Fennell John Quilty 22 Apr 1983 Obit

John Fennell is not among the children of the CHC report dated May 31,1990. It was during my trip to Ireland in 1998 that we found out more details about this particular branch of the family (although Mom had previously mentioned an uncle that went to Troy, New York). We were told by locals that John Fennell was a brother to Michael Fennell, our grandfather, and that he may have been married twice; to Mary and to Margaret Kelleher (although what appears to have been two wives may have only been one, Mary Margaret Kelleher).

John moved to Troy, Rensselaer County, New York, and later returned to Quilty where he inevitably died. Children born to John were 1-Mary Fennell: 2-Bridget Fennell: 3-Pauline (Polly) Fennell (married Unknown Marrien): 4-Eileen Fennell: 5-Nancy Fennell: and 6-Thomas Fennell.

One of the locals said that John was well known and liked in Quilty and that he loved to play the fiddle, especially at parties and dances (written by Karen Snodgrass)
