Per Example: my case. I want to have synchronized documents at home and at work.
Begin at home.
- First step: check menu "Options/Preference" for right program's properties.
- First combo box contain compression programm (currently supported only gzip).
- First edit line contain mount point for floppy drive. This mount point must by into fstab for proper device mounting.
- Second edit box contain mount point for removable media such as Jaz (in my case) or Zip. For automounting this point must by into fstab.
- Third edit box contain directory for hard-drive storing, if you don't want automatically storing tou Bags...
- Second step: create you first bag with menu item "Bags/Add bag".
- Press menu item "Add bag" into "Bags" or press right button of your mouse into main list view (big white field at center :-) ) and choose "Add bag".
- In this dialog you must choose name of your bag (don't use commas!).
- In second edit box you must enter root directory with your data (such as '/mnt/c/My Documents').
- You may want to press 'select' button to easily choose directory.
- And now - select default media for exchange between computers.
- Third step: moving you data to media.
- Select bag in main list view.
- Simply choose "Bags/Move to media" menu item, push button "Move to media" on toolbar or select it from popup menu into main list view.
All of your documents will be zipped and stored onto media as you choose in item's options.
- Fourth step: moving data from media to remote computer.
- OK, you come to work and want update you documents...
You must repeat step two. Identical with your home computer.
- What is now ? Select bag in main list and press 'Move from media'... :) This is all what you need. The documents is now synchronized.
- Fifthly: transfer updated documents back to home.
- It's more easy than before ! Select bag and press 'Move to media' (as described in step three). That's ALL !!!
Put you diskette to bag and go home !
