Eliminating the Venom of the Anti-Krycek Phile

I subscribe to a mailing list which features Krycek fanfiction.  (It's called RATales.  Check out their site.)  Naturally the members of the list are Krycek aficionados.  It's easy in such a pro-Krycek environment to forget that there are philes who really, really hate Krycek and want to see him dead.  I think I have come up with a way to reduce if not eliminate this source of venom:

Have Krycek kill Diana Fowley.

Now before you start thinking I've lost my mind, consider a few points.  CSM is probably the most vile member of the consortium with Agent Fouler -er Fowley running a close second.  But you can't kill CSM.  He's the devil.  You can't kill the devil.  Besides as villains go he does have some style.  Not as much as WMM but he has some.  You have to admit that he makes lighting up a cigarette look oh so sinister.  In addition, Fowley is infinitely more expendable.  Besides, who would miss her?  The woman is beyond evil.  For your consideration her list of crimes:

  1. Trying to wedge herself between Mulder and Scully.
  2. Locking Mulder up in that psychiatric facility.
  3. Using her past relationship with Mulder to screw him over.  (I'll admit that Mulder being the punk that he is did do more than his fair share to help the wench in this one.   Oh she was helping me by not collaborating my story.  Dumb ass!)
  4. Secretly gathering data on abducted women for her own evil purposes.  (Getting into CSM's good graces no doubt.)
  5. Kidnapping Mulder and Scully forcing them to submit to the humiliation of a non-private shower.
  6. That whole stripping thing in "Biogenesis." <shudder>

Okay, so number six is more a personal gripe.  Seriously though the woman has done a lot of evil considering how few episodes she appears in.  And that's not even mentioning the possibly that she's doing the mattress mambo with CSM.  Forcing such a depraved image into our heads should be reason enough to have her shot.   (Effectively this time.)

Naturally, this begs the next question:  Who should do this deed?  There are lots of reasons and potential favor doers but only one logical choice.  I shall list through all of them.  Let's start with Mulder.

While Mulder could kill the Foul one in his current state of mental non-health he is as of the end of season 6 residing in a facility which would not allow him to use something as innocuous as a pair of safety scissors much less something as deadly as a weapon.   So he's out of the question.  Besides she'd probably end up knocking the gun out of his hand with a boob.

Then of course there's Scully.  While she obviously despises Fowley and justice (okay shipper justice) dictates that she be the one to kill her, it just wouldn't happen.   Killing that back-stabbing Fowley bitch in cold blood is not a Scully thing to do.   She's far too ethical and it has the potential of ruining any relationship with Mulder that had better have gotten started by the series finale.

Skinner is an interesting prospect.  I can see Skinner shooting someone if necessary.  He's done it before.  The problem is the phrase "if necessary."  While I think he has enough dubious qualities in his character to have a hand in her death or its cover up, I don't see him as the trigger man.  Plus he has no motive.  Fowley hasn't done anything to Skinner per se.  (Although I'd like to know how she managed to get time away from the x-files to do all the travelling she did while Spender was collecting paper shreds for his paper maché projects.  She had to have gone over Skinner's head to get permission.)

Which leaves the presumed dead Spender.  I didn't see a body so I assume nothing.   For all we know CSM has him locked away in a shack somewhere in the bowels of the northern tundra in an attempt to deprogram him.  At any rate Spender couldn't even kill the alien rebel do you think he'd be able to kill a (technical) human being?  I think not.  Spender is not the one.

Now for Marita Covarrubias.  Somehow I do not doubt that Fowley had a hand in turning the once haughty Covarrubias into a shadow of her former self.  The Uniblonder would have reason to kill Fowley but considering her current state she looks as though she'd jump at her own shadow.  She's not the same woman who stole Dimitri from under the nose of the sexy and duplicitous Alex Krycek.  Marita couldn't do it.

CSM could kill Fowley.  Easily.  The man subjected the mother of his child to the most hideous of experiments and then shot his own offspring.  He is worse than the mouse that would eat it's own offspring rather than let the cat get to them.  He tried to kill Krycek on more than one occasion.  He tried to kill Mulder and he took Scully away to be alien food.  The man is cold hearted enough to do the job.   There are two logistical problems.  First, CSM is looking for an heir apparent and it is painfully obvious that Jeffrey was his mother's son.  It would appear that TBFB has taken up the role as the new heir.  Second, if CSM was to shoot her it would only turn her into a martyr and that is simply not acceptable.

That leaves Krycek.  Of course no one really knows who if anyone Krycek is working for but I suspect that Krycek's agenda and CSM's agenda are not one and the same.   Which means that as surely as CSM is a threat to Krycek so is Fowley.  And we all know that Krycek is a survivor if nothing else.  Plus he's capable of doing the job and getting it done.  So he is the logical choice to eliminate Fowley.   Since Fowley is so hated by so many philes he'd be doing a good deed which could potentially erase all the other deeds for which the anti-Krycek philes seem to hate him.   (I'm not convinced that he is guilty of all of those acts but that's besides the point.)  The next time a Krycek hater said he should die all you'd have to say is "But he got rid of that God-awful Fowley woman."

Of course I have no influence.  I'm just a phile who occasionally has way too much time to think at work.  But it's worth considering don't you think?
