Number one tip, HAVE FUN!!
To save money, instead of precut sheets of tracing paper, buy packet of full size 81/2" x 11" tracing paper and cut in quarters for use with the stamp positioner.
When using a stamp positioner, use tracing paper to stamp your image on. Place the image where you want it, align the positioner up to the corner of the stamped sheet, remove and stamp image on cs.
When you buy a new stamp, make a mask and positioning sheet for it.
Store your mask and positioning sheet with the stamp if possible like in the Stampin Up cases, if your stamps are in drawers, place the mask and positioning sheet under stamp.
Store ink pads upside down and label the sides with the color name.
Use old style cassette tape holders, individually slotted, for storing ink pads. (Garage sale finds now days)
When using UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel) heat from underneath to prevent blow away.
Store bottled glue upside down, it is faster than waiting for the glue to get to the tip when stored upright.
Sandwich wrapping paper makes great blotter paper. Cheap too.
Use your computer to print out sayings/verses on card stock and cut out and layer on card or print directly onto card stock.
Make a journal of all stamps. Take with you when shopping to avoid duplicate purchases.
If you have a saying stamp that just does not fit in the space available, use a marker to color and make it fit, example; Wishing you a speedy recovery. (all one line) ink "Wishing you a" and stamp, clean stamp and ink up "speedy recovery" and stamp underneath, making it two lines.
Store dual tip markers horizontally. It evenly distributes ink to both ends.
If your markers are dripping, store tip up. If they are on the dry side, store tip down.
You can revive markers by adding drops of water to the ink barrel just until a bead of water comes out the tip, cap and let sit.
To revive marker using ink refills, dilute using 50% water 50% re-inker.
If your stamps do not hold ink well, take a very fine sand paper to it lightly. This will remove any film on it that is preventing the ink from staying on it.
Precut and score card stock, then when you are in a hurry they are available.
Use brush markers to color you stamps then stamp on paper
For a corrugated leaf, take cs and fold in half, cut shape out and run it through corrugater slightly crooked
Used fabric softener sheets work pretty good at removing static from acetate.
Shop the "dollar" stores for great finds; background textures, copper scrubbers, flip flop rubber shoes; pocket calendars, pocket notebooks and lots more to be found there.
Use double stick tape to stick items to your brayer to make different patterns, or use a lint roller and stick thing to it and roll away.
