  • The Dixie Chicks are featured in the upcoming weeks issue of TV Guide (April 22-28). They are featured on the cover and also in a several page interview inside. 4/21/00

  • Tour dates were announced today. Over 70 dates have been confirmed. Dates can be found in tourdates section. 4/14/00

  • This past week, The British Country Music Awards took place and the Dixie Chicks took home two awards in the International Category for Group/Duo and the Album Fly. Also, this Friday tourdates will be announced at a press conference. 4/12/00

  • Although the song continues to be controversial, the single "Goodbye Earl" officially became certified Gold. Also, "Wide Open Spaces" has been certified 9 times platinum, after having sold 9 million copies. 4/9/00

  • Finalists for the TNN Music Awards were announced the other day. The Dixie Chicks are up for Group/Duo of the Year, Album of the Year "Fly", CMT Music Video of the Year "Ready to Run." Voting begins March 27th at http://www.country.com. Ballots can be picked up in Country Weekly in April and also 900 numbers will be given to vote by phone. The awards show will be telecast live on Thursday, June 15 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on TNN and will once again be hosted by Jeff Foxworthy.

  • The nominations for the 35th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM) were just announced this evening. The Dixie Chicks picked up nominations for "Vocal Duo of the Year" "Video of the Year" and "Single of the Year" for Ready to Run, "Album of the Year" for Fly, and Entertainer of the Year. The awards show will take place on Wednesday May 5, 2000 on CBS starting at 8pm ET. 3/1/00

  • The Video for "Goodbye Earl" will premiere tomorrow, March 1st on CMT's Delivery Room. You can check out the show at 10am, 3pm, and 10pm EST. Also this past week, "Cowboy Take Me Away" continued to be the #1 video on the Top 12 Countdown. 2/29/00

  • Nominees for the 13th Nickoldeon Kids Choice Awards were just announced and the Dixie Chicks slipped in a nomination for Favorite Band. They're the only country group making the list, showing that they've appealed to a young audience. Other nominees in the category are Sixpence None the Richer, Smash Mouth, and Sugar Ray. You can catch the award show on Nickelodeon, April 15th. Here's the information needed to vote:

Kids will have the opportunity to cast their votes both on and off air in a total of 25 categories. Voting kicks off on February 28 at participating BURGER KING(R) restaurants nationwide, where kids can cast their votes through March 12. From March 13 through March 27, kids can go to nick.com to choose their favorite stars, including 10 categories that will be exclusive to online voting. Kids can also vote by calling a toll-free number Nickelodeon will be flashing on air during programming from March 20 through 24 and on Saturday night March 25 during SNICK. The Kids' Choice Awards area on nick.com will include nominee bios, Kids' Choice Awards instant win postcards and a ticker with up to the minute updates. The nominee area will also include streaming audio and kids can campaign for their favorites online by sending Kids' Choice postcards in support of their favorite nominees. By sending a postcard, kids automatically have the chance to instant win hundreds of Kids' Choice prizes.

  • The 42nd annual Grammy Awards were held last night in Los Angeles. The Dixie Chicks picked up awards for Duo/Group - Dixie Chicks "Ready To Run" and Best Country Album - Dixie Chicks "Fly". They also performed "Goodbye Earl" while the new video was unveiled featuring Dennis Franz, Lauren Holly and Jane Krakowski who is on Ally McBeal. 2/24/00

  • "Fly" was officially ceritified 4X platinum on February 9th. 4 million copies and counting... 2/12/00

  • The nominees were just announced for the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards which will take place in June. The Dixie Chicks are nominated for Favorite Duo oe Group in the country category. Other nominees are Brooks & Dunn and Lonestar. 2/9/00

  • The Dixie Chicks will be performing at the 42nd annual Grammy Awards on February 23, 8PM ET on CBS. Other performers include Faith Hill, Santana, Ricky Martin, TLC, Kid Rock, and Britney Spears. 2/9/00

  • Voting began last week for the TNN Music Awards.   • Wondering about where the idea for the song "Cowboy Take Me Away" came from? Martie recently in an interview in the Tennessean said the idea was a gift for her sister, fellow Chick, Emily, for her wedding and the title of the song came from a Calgon commercial, "Calgon Take Me Away." 1/12/00 countrycool.com

  • Unfortunately, the Dixie Chicks made Mr. Blackwell's annual Worst Dressed List. They came in at #10 and here's what Blackwell had to say about it: ``They look like a trio of truckstop fashion tragedies trapped in a typhoon.'' 1/11/00 Reuters

The Dixie Chicks are nominated in four categories: Album of the Year (Other nominees are Santana, TLC, Backstreet Boys, and Diana Krall), Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for "Ready to Run" (Other nominees are BR5-49, Diamond Rio, Lonestar, SHeDAISY), Best Country Song for "Ready to Run" (Other nominees "Amazed" -Lonestar, "Choices" -George Jones, "Come On Over" -Shania Twain, Two Teardrops"- Steve Wariner), and Best Country Album "Fly" (Other nominees are Asleep at the Wheel, Alison Krauss, George Jones, and Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstandt, Dolly Parton). Also, Asleep at the Wheel was nominated for Best Country Collaboration With Vocals for the song "Roly Poly" in which was done with the Dixie Chicks.
