 20-STEP POWERPOINT 97 TUTORIAL:

     Learn to create a PowerPoint Presentation in 20 steps. Resize this window to take up one half of your monitor. Open PowerPoint by clicking on START. Then click on PROGRAMS. Then click on MICROSOFT POWERPOINTResize the PowerPoint window to take up the other half of your monitor (PLEASE NOTE: PowerPoint will not let you resize its windows until you are on step 3). Once the windows are resized,  you should be able to work back and forth between this tutorial and the PowerPoint you are creating.

    The slides below are thumbnail copies of the way your screen should look for each step of your PowerPoint creation. Click on them for an enlargement. Use the browser BACK button to return to this page from the enlargement. You may want to print a copy of this page for future reference.

1. Select the Blank presentation radio button by clicking on it. Then click OK 2. Select the Autolayout for the new slide by clicking on it. Choose Title Slide and click OK. 3. Select the Click to add title and sub-title text boxes by clicking on them. 4. Type your title and subtitle in the text boxes. 5. After the title and subtitle are entered, click Insert on the menu bar. Then click New Slide...from the drop-down menu.

6. Select the Autolayout for the new slide by clicking on it. Choose Clip Art & Text and click OK. 7. Select the text or graphics you want to modify by clicking inside the box. 8. Select Click to add title and type the slide title. 9. Select the Click to add text box and type the text you want. Use "Enter" on you keyboard to add another bullet to the list. 10. Double click on Double click to add clip art. Select a Category by clicking on it.

11. Select a graphic to insert onto your slide by clicking on it. 12. Click on Insert clip from the menu that appears. 13. The graphic will be inserted onto the slide.  Then resize or move the graphic by clicking and dragging.  14. (Read slide 15 instructions NOW, then continue) Click Slide Show on the menu bar and the View Show on the drop-down menu to see your presentation.  (You must click ONE time to change slides during the slide show)                  15. Slide 1 appears. Click to change to slide 2.

16. Slide 2. Click to end the show since this is your last slide and go back to PowerPoint. 17. Click on File on the menu bar and the click on Save As to save your presentation. 18. Select where you want to save the presentation from the drop-down menu in the Save in: box. 19. Give your presentation a name in the File name: box. 20.  Click File on the menu bar, and Exit on the drop-down menu to close PowerPoint.
