Organization

The Mongolian army was set up quite simply. It was a base ten
army. Each unit was built from 10 smaller units right down to a
single man. This gave them a huge amount of mobility and ease of
of operation. Commands to the army only had to be given to 10 men
The diagram below illustrates how the army is built up, and just how big
a Tumen is. Please note that my little men are on foot, and in real life
they would be on horse. :)
