Hikaru Masaki (Mousse) [Gabriel/Phoenix] Mousse’s birth was induced by top government scientists. They codename him Gabriel. Their purpose was to use him as the key for mass evolution. He was taken from his mother, but it was assumed that he was lost.

He ended up in China where he was at the mercy of the amazons, who abused him physically and mentally. He saved a girl from drowning, but was cursed by the water. He now turns into a girl, resembling his mother, when splashed with cold water. He was found by the Clamp Detectives, and later he was taken in by Yui Ikari, who unfortunately married Gendou Rokubungi. He ran away after Yui’s “death,” because he hated his ‘step-father’ and has tried to repress that memory for some time. When Mousse is called back to NERV, he is ordered into Unit 01.He is also the host for an entity known as “the Phoenix” who traveled the galaxy thousands of years, acting as the universal equalizer. |
