Exotic Mustangs ?

Ok so can specialty Mustangs count as exotics ? Ok now first how about the dictionary meaning for exotic:

exotic- 1.Belonging by nature or origin to another part of the world; not native.
           2.Strangely different and fasinating.

When I think of an exotic car I think of something that is very quick, has a high top end, and handles like it is on rails.

Well now to see how a specialty Mustangs holds up to other known exotic Mustangs. First in an acceleration test, then in lap times. Ok the specialty Mustang I am using is the Steeda Q Mustang. The other three cars are, Dodge Viper GTS, Ferrari 550 Maranello, and the Porsche 959. Now why did I choose these cars ? Well first off everyone likes the Dodge Viper so I threw it in for fun. The Ferrari 550 Maranello is in there becuase it is by far faster than the 355 and the Testarossa. The Porsche 959 was choosen becuase it is the ultimate Porsche.

Well on the acceleration numbers what better way to prove my point than by just showing you the numbers. The bolded number means that car was quickest in that test. Also keep in mind that the Porsche 959 is all wheel drive, so it will blow everything else away off the line.

Test Steeda Q Dodge Viper GTS Ferrari 550 Maranello Porsche 959
0-30 MPH 1.5 1.9 1.7 1.3
0-40 MPH 1.9 2.5 2.2 2.5
0-50 MPH 3.1* 3.1 3.5 3.2
0-60 MPH 4.1 4.5 4.4 4.0
0-70 MPH 4.9 5.4 5.3 5.7
0-80 MPH 6.4 6.5 7.1 6.8
0-90 MPH 7.5 8.4 8.3 8.1
0-100 MPH 8.6 9.8 10.4 10.4
0-100 FT 2.6 2.9 2.7 2.5
0-500 FT 6.7 7.1 7.1 6.9
1/4 Mile 12.1 12.7 12.8 12.7
Trap Speed 119.2 112.7 113.9 112.3
Top Speed 198 186 186 186
* The Steeda Q does 0-50 four hundredths of a second quicker than the Viper.

Ok so now that we have established that some specialty Mustangs have more than enough power to keep up, if not out run exotic cars. I also think an exotic car must be able to handle very well, bare minnium of 9/10 tenths. Well to see how the Steeda Q compares to the other cars in handling I am going to show you the lap times from Watkins Glen Grand Prix Course (3.37 Miles) of the cars presented here.

Car Lap Time Average MPH
Steeda Q 2 MIN, 29.7 SEC 81.1 MPH
Dodge Viper GTS 2 MIN, 32.1 SEC 79.8 MPH
Ferrari 550 Maranello 2 MIN, 33.5 SEC 79.2 MPH
Porsche 959 2 MIN, 36.2 SEC 77.7 MPH

Ok so by now hopefully I have established that the Steeda Q can out accelerate and out handle these exotics. So why aren't these specialty Mustangs considered exotics ? The only reason I can think of is that they are made in USA, but so is the Viper.

So what do you think ? Cast your vote on my page. The voting question is at the bottom of the right column on the main page.

Well as always, I think I have provided the inoformation in a very straight forward way. If you have any questions feel free to E-mail me. I will promptly (within 2 days) send you an anwser.
