Perfectly Happy

I am perfectly happy with my friendship with Agent Scully.  I
am perfectly happy with my friendship with Agent Scully.  I
am perfectly happy with my friendship with Agent Scully.  I
am perfectly happy with my friendship with Agent Scully.  I
am perfectly happy with my friendship with Agent Scully.
     Those words, which I said over a year ago, keep
repeating themselves over and over in my mind, like an
ageless mantra, trying to tell my heart something.  I am
perfectly happy with my friendship with Agent Scully.  But I
know that's not true anymore.
     Thinking back on that conversation with Holman Hardt, I
wonder.  I wonder if he did't see what I was denying, even to
myself.
