Description - Clock Repair                  Course: WCR450

Clock Repair I

This course gives the student basic education in clock history and knowledge. The student will also work with metals sawing and filing, once mastered the student receives hands on training on the repair of a wide range of clocks. The student starts with a simple one train clock movement and progresses to a 2 then 3 train chime and strike movement. The student learns clock nomenclature as well as trouble shooting problems and the repair of those problems. The student learns how to take a worn out clock movement and completely rebuild it using standard clock repair tools and techniques. Upon completion of this class, the student would have knowledge and be able to repair the most common type of mechanical clocks available today.

Clock Repair II

The course is an extension of the basic clock repair course. Once the student enters this course, the student is free to work on any clock. Most students in this course use this course to hone skills in preparation to enter the clock repair industry
