NETFO(Northeast Texas Field Ornithologists)
We invite you to join us for meetings, field trips and other birding activities here in Northeast Texas.
Our Meetings are generally on the first Tuesday of each month (September through May). We meet at 6:30 PM at SeeSaw Children's Place, 1601 West Fairmont Street, near the intersection with Gilmer Road in Longview, Texas.
Our Newsletter has been discontinued until we can find a volunteer or volunteers to publish one. In the meantime, E-mails are being sent out to remind members about our meetings and other activities, and monthly bird reports are posted on this web site, along with information about our meetings and other activities.
Annual membership dues are $10. You can send a check (payable to NETFO) to our treasurer, Gene Peiter, at 603 Loraine Court, Longview, Texas 75604. Or you can pay him at one of our meetings. Be sure to give him your E-mail address if you want to receive E-mail notices about our birding activities.
Our Bird reports are compiled and distributed by Linda Gail Price. Linda also compiles and edits our local bird reports for North American Birds. Be sure to report your noteworthy Northeast Texas bird sightings to Linda each month. To get on her E-mail list or to report bird sightings, send an E-mail to Linda at lprice(at)mac.com. Our Bird Reports web page offers additional information about reporting your Northeast Texas bird sightings.
Our Checklist, Birds of Northeast Texas, Second Edition, 1999, is available for $1 at our regular monthly meetings or by contacting Gene Peiter at peiter(at)att.net. Patches and tee-shirts are also available with our Northeast Texas Field Ornithologists logo.
Our Officers and Committees:
Our thanks to all the people who have volunteered to serve as officers, directors and in other capacities -- for the year to come and in years past. We're grateful to everyone who has spent their precious free time to help NETFO serve it's members. If you're among them, you've probably found out how rewarding it is to get involved. If you're not among them yet, consider volunteering.
