In 2179,Mars is colonized by Earth.Mars' populus consists of Humans and "Second Type" robots. Second Types are used to carry out jobs that Humans won't do.Mars is also populated by Thirds,illegal humanoid robots.These "Thirds" are designed by a Nationalist force to look and behave like Humans.These Thirds lived unnoticed in the Martian populus until a man by the name of Rene D'anclaude rages war on them.Naomi Armitage(Elizabeth Berkley)is an officer of the M.P.D.Naomi is also a Third.Although her employers,nor her new partner,Ross Sylibus(Kiefer Sutherland),know this.Ross lost his partner to a cybernetic killer and has a grave hatred for robots.He learns to accept robots more after he is seriously injured and he is fixed up with cybernetic limb replacements. D'anclaude himself is also a robot.Actually one of many like him.This explains how he keeps returning after getting the crap beat out of him and being apprehended by the M.P.D. I really don't want to ruin the rest...I highly recommend this movie and series.to anyone who hasn't seen it.Anime fanatic or not.
