Kidd joins Rovers

Manchester : Manchester United assistant manager Brian Kidd has joined England Premier League side Blackburn Rovers as manager, Blackburn chairman Jack Walker said yesterday.Kidd 49,will be introduced to Blackburn fans at tomorrow's league match against Charlton.Kidd has played for United, Arsenal, Everton and Bolton in his 15 year career and has been part of Alex Ferguson's successful management team at Manchester United - Reuters.

United bid for Nakata

Milan : Manchester United have repeatedly bid for Perugia's Japanese forward Hidetoshi Nakata in the past few weeks,but have been turned down including theier latest offer of 28 billion lire.Nakata has attracted a lot of attention in the Italian Serie A by scoring six goals in ten league games in his first season with Perugia. - AP

Contract end worries for Ferguson

The latest worry for Manchester United fans concerns the future of Alex Ferguson. The manager's current contract expires in June 2000, and the club admits there is no "timetable in place" for renewal talks. Reports suggest that Brian McClair is poised to join Brian Kidd at Blackburn Rovers. Motherwell have granted their captain McClair permission to talk to Rovers about the vacant assistant manager's position.
