Damn! Got caught off guard in the rain at the worse possible time.

I left the office and entered a bright, sunny, humidity-free afternoon and sat down at some lunch tables put out for the summer by the building management next door. Just minutes after dropping my tush on a metal patio chair and opening my book for a nice quiet read in the sun, the wind picked up and my newspapers went flying. I had to chase after them. Sheesh! Normally I wouldn`t break a drop of sweat to save a couple sheets of cheap paper, but there was an article on Worldcom I wanted to check out. I`m sure someone here has a copy.

My head returned to it`s intended position tilted down toward the book. I wanted to know if, in the story, they were going to accept the land contract as legal even though it was purchased when land could not be sold to non-citizens. I was reading quickly and fully focused on the words laid across the pages of my paperback lunchtime special when I got dumped on by heavy drops of precipitation. I was even under a freaking umbrella!

I got up intending to head inside when I realized I left my umbrella on my desk. Like a rainbow colored nimrod I had to stand under the patio umbrella, smack dab in the middle, until the rain subsided. It didn`t keep me from reading though. I never got to find out the legality of the land purchase.
