Val writes that Jeff remembers the place on 10 mile Creek:

Jeff isn't home right now to get all this accurate, but I remember him telling me that he was 16 when they moved to the house by the creek. Brenda once told me a neat story about some beverages that the boys left cooling in the creek suspended by a string fastened to a log going across the creek. Seems that Brenda saw the string and fished it out as she was curious what was on the other end. It was a 6 pack of beverage the boys shouldn't have had, but she just chuckled and put it back.

Dee remembers it differently:

But it doesn't seem like Jeff could have possibly been sixteen (Val later told me he was 8)when they moved over by the crick, because I remember Leanore's brother living in that house over by Chuck's for quite awhile when we were young, and I remember Davey teaching me to shuffle cards over by the crick when he was about sixteen and I was about thirteen and that was one highlight of my young life, I tell you; I pretended to be a slow learner. And there is a fairly memorable picture of one year when we had Thanksgiving dinner over at Claypool's by the crick, and they still had a bunch of little kid's...I was maybe twelve so Jeff would have been about nine or ten. I have a lot of good memories of us and the Claypool's...fun childhood, growing up back there. Mike was my buddy when we were teenagers and in Minneapolis, and he was Tony's best man when we got married since none of my older brother's were there nor any of Tony's family. He had a car we could reach thro' into the trunk from the back seat and pull out the jug of cheap wine he kept in there, and we could watch the road go by looking down thro' the floor boards. Mike Andree dared me to smoke a cigar one time and I didn't know you weren't supposed to inhale...thought I was going to puke and really embarrass myself, I choked so bad. Come to think of it this doesn't really sound like good memories, does it? WELL, I'm really going this time. Love you all, Dee
