Pokémon Pinball

Pokémon Pinball, where you use a Pokéball and hit things with it. Seems simple huh? Well, pretty much!

RrrrrrUuuUuUuUMmmMmmMBbBbBbLlEeEE PpPPpAaAaAaCCCcCcKkKKkkThis Pokémon game has a built-in rumble pack, which means you don't have to buy a seperate rumble pack just for this game! The rumble pack 'rumbles' when it hits particular things, but if you didn't want the rumble pack, you could turn it off anytime in the options menu. The background music is mostly from the japanese cartoon which means that Nintedo decided not to change it to the english version! You may also print out your high scores on the GameBoy Printer and trade Pokémon high scores ONLY through the gamelink cable.

The goals of the game, is pretty dang simple: get a high score by hitting things, warping from one place to another, catch pokémon, etc. But you gotta have quick reflexes when the pokéball comes unexpectedly. Make sure you hit the ball before it goes down the pit.. you only have 3 lives! One of the most interesting things in the game, is that there are two tables (blue or red) which is similar to the Pokémon game (blue and red). You won't always get bored with the same old table. The differences between the two tables includes how it looks, the bonus stages, Pokémon appearances and map locations.
Red Table

Some definitions and explainations:

  • Catch 'em mode - When catch 'em mode is activated, a random pokémon (depends on where you are located) will appear as a silhouette in the middle of the table. To catch it, you must flip the silhouette over by hitting either the voltorb (red) or the shellder (blue) 6 times. And soon after it's flipped over, you must hit it another 3 times for the word "catch!" to show up. When it does, you hit the Pokémon one last time.. and then it will be captured. But you'll only have 2 minutes to do this.
  • Evolution Mode - Once Evolution Mode starts, many arrows will appear pointing at particular spots where you must hit to get the experience, evolution stone or cable to appear. When it does you go to collect them.. When three are collected, the cave above it will open. The last step you'll have to do is it drop your Pokéball in! But make sure, when you're Pokémon get tired, follow the red arrows around the table to recover it.
  • Map Move - Map Move happens when you hit either two Pokémon on the side three times (diglett for red and poliwag or psyduck for blue). You'll have 30 seconds to hit the ball (following the arrows) around the table and the cave entrance will open. As you hit it in, you will be moved to a new location. When you have map moved three times, your forth map move will be moved to a rare Pokémon ground(check below). On your sixth map move, you will be moved to Indigo Plateau.
  • Pikachu Kickback - If you spin the spinner enough, the lightening meter will fill up. When it is filled up, Pikachu will be charged up and will save your ball when it ever falls down the out lanes. But once the lightening meter is not full, Pikachu will not be able to save it.
  • Slots - The slots bonus cave will open when you have lit up the word "CAVE". When your ball does go in, you will be able to get one out of the 10 bonus choices randomly. Some might include SMALL, Catch 'em Mode, Twin Pikachu, a bonus level and Evolution mode.
  • Field Multiplier - To double your field points you may evolve your Pokéball into a Great Ball, maybe to a Ultra Ball or a Master Ball, if you could do it in one minute. To upgrade your PokéBall you must get all three lights above the shellder or voltorb to light up at the same time. If you upgrade your ball more than 5 times, you get a special surprise...
  • Bonus Multiplier - You could double your bonus points if you hit the two flat long things which are located above the dugtrio or the poliwag and psyduck. A number would appear on the bonus multiplier telling you how many bonus multipliers you have. For example you got x3, then it will be printed as 0 on the left and 3 on the right.
  • Ball Save - Ball Save is on when you see the blue SAVER lighted up close by the flippers. When your ball falls down the pit, it will be saved and you'll have another chance. But it's only on for a while. It turns on in every beginning of a game, catch 'em mode and evolution mode.
  • PokéDex - When you either capture or evolve a Pokémon, it will be recorded in the PokéDex. Even for the ones you didn't catch, but seen.. it will be showed as a silhouette. There you will be able to hear its voice and some information too.
  • Tilting - You could use this to either hit your ball back in the table. But it doesn't always work, you need to be on time and at the right time too.
  • Bonus Stages - You'll be able to play the bonus stages when you capture or evolve three Pokémon. In the red table you'll get to play the Diglett Stage where you hit the Diglett down while the Gengar Stage is where you hit Gastly and Haunter repeatedly to get Gengar out. In the blue table, there is a Meowth Stage where you hit meowth to get its coins. The second stage is the Seel Stage is where you hit Seel's head when it pops up. If you play enough bonus's you'll get to a special stage where you hit a rare Pokémon! Try if for yourself to find out.

More info on Bonus Stages: Not every stage has a time limit like the diglett stage. But for Gengar (1:30), Meowth (1:00) and Seel (1:30) stages, there is a time limit. So it doesn't matter if the ball falls down the gutter.
