Law Enforcement Explorers

What is Exploring?

Explorers are young men and women who want to test their futures now. Together with professional police, they learn the ins and outs of law enforcement from the routine to the unexpected.

What do Explorers Explore?

Explorers learn the facts behind the laws from those who know the law. They're in on the chief methods of crime detection from fingerprinting to canine units. Explorers see the legal process first-hand with visits to courts and penal facilities. They find out what role first aid, self defense and CPR play in their lives. Explorering is many things - - a chance to meet, a chance to do, a chance to learn. It is a lot of good and a lot of fun - - for everyone.

The Exploring Program is a branch of the Boy Scouts of America. You do not have to be a boy or a scout to join. The Presque Isle Police Department has, in the past, teamed up with the B.S.A. to bring Exploring to all interested people in the Greater Presque Isle Area. Anyone from 14 to 20 years old is eligible to join.

The Presque Isle Police Department Explorer post has disbanded. Given enough community interest, the post could be reestablished. If you are interested in redeveloping a Law Enforcement Explorer post in conjunction with the Presque Isle Police Department, please contact us at 764-4476.
