Double-Paned Glass

Here I sit, trapped in my home,

while reality plays itself out, through double-paned glass.

Beckoning to me, come join the world,

share in the laughter and tears.

Most thinking, she has turned into a recluse,

shaking their heads in bewilderment.

Not understanding this disease,

that has so drastically altered my life.

A disease that doles out more bad days then good,

That doesn’t allow for sun filled days,

or a devil may care attitude.

That allows my own body,

to be its worst enemy.

Here I sit, watching, while life passes me by,

Through double-paned glass.
