In this installment of Final Fantasy, Square inserted a new summon system called Guardian Force. GFs are the same as summon monsters from FFVII, except they now gain experience and learn new skills as the characters do. Each GF can be equiped to any character, and can learns skills that will allow the linking of magic to the character it is equiped to. On this page you will find descriptions of all GFs, and the skills they can learn.
Quezacotl:
Found At: Access Squall's study panel from his desk in the classroom at Balamb Garden.
Select the Tutorial option and Quezacotl will automatically be added to your GF
inventory.

Diablos
Found At: Talk to Headmaster Cid before leaving Balamb Garden for Timber and he'll give
you a
cursed Magical Lamp. Use the lamp in your item inventory, and you'll automatically get teleported
into battle against Diablos. You must defeat Diablos before it will join your party.
GF's Attack: Dark Messenger. Dark Messenger is a non-elemental based attack, which
increases in power as Diablos level increases. At LV 10, for example, Diablos' attack power will be
10% of the Opponent's Max HP; LV 20: 20%, LV 30: 30%, and so on up to at LV 100: 100%.
Diablos can only inflict up to 9999 points of damage against the enemy.
