Ah... The chance to see Robert Duncan McNeill and Roxann
Dawson on stage together proved to be irresistible, so the last weekend
in March I packed up and flew from Colorado to New York City to attend
the Creation con in Manhattan. I arrived in NYC late Friday night
and was met by my friend Niomi and her friend Jean. We got up Saturday
morning and did a bit of sightseeing, since it was my first trip ever to
New York. I got some lovely shots of the city, including the one
above from the 86th floor observatory of the Empire State building.
I fell absolutely in love with the city, and am trying to figure out when
I can return and spend a bit more time.
The Convention was held at the Roosevelt hotel in Manhattan, located at 45th and Madison. |
The hotel was beautiful on the inside. I was just dazzled by the decor. It was a much classier hotel than I am accustomed to for a convention, although I have to say that I almost felt sorry for the couple that was holding their wedding there the same Saturday as the convention. |

On Saturday, we got the chance to see Mary Kay Adams who plays Grilka on DS9 speak. She was wonderful, funny and entertaining. I had laughed at her character when she was on the show, but I have to admit, she is much more engaging in person. After seeing her on stage, I took the time to go to her table and have her to autograph a picture for me. She is as personable as she is beautiful. |
