Pete

Peter Thomas Steele was born January 4, 1962, which makes him a Capricorn. His mother is Icelandic, and his father Russian. It is rumored that his real last name is Stalin, but was translated to Steele when he moved to Brooklyn NY at the age of 19. Pete is also the baby of his family, he has five older sisters.

Pete was raised Catholic, but now he is a firm believer in Darwinism.

As we all know Pete writes the songs for the band. He began wrighting at the ge of 12, I've read that he used pieces of things he wrote on the 'October Rust' album.

Pete met Josh in high school, and they were in a couple of bands together in their earlier years, including the bands Agression and Fallout.

Other bands that Pete had been in before Type O include Repulsion and Carnivore.

Carnivore was a hardcore band that broke up in 1988. The group still has somewhat of a following. Their shows usually involved riots, and the band used to throw meat at the audience, I think I'm glad I missed that.

Also before Type O, Pete worked as an equipment operator for New York City Parks Department for 7 years. he really loved working there, he has even gone so far as saying this was the happiest time of his life. Eventually, Pete had to choose between working with the Parks Department, and Type O. His choice is obvious, but he did refuse to give his badge back.

Pete was married once, but he described this experience as being more like playing house. However Pete does have a long time girlfriend named Elizabeth

Pete is usually a favorite with the ladies, I have to admit he has a lulling voice, and he is good looking, but I choose to look past that, and like him for his talent, you know that thing you have to have to make it in the music buisness.

You can never fully comprehend how huge this guy is until you see him in person. Just to give you a rough idea, he is 6'6, 220-260lbs, maybe more by now. He also wears a size 15 boots! To keep himself in such good condition, he works out 6 days a week. He has his own home gym, that travels with him wherever he ventures to, now that's dedication. Pete can bench 315 that also could be more by now. I read that once he fell through the bus while doing bench presses, ha ha (sorry Pete).

And how about those teeth? Yes they are real, umm I mean one is real, the other was knocked out after a confrontation with a man armed with a hammer.
