Postcard Tour

Here is a collection of some of my postcards.  I have included a description about the picture below the card. Enjoy!

Concord College. Athens, WV (1931). This is where I attend school today.  This is now known as the Administration Building.  This is now one of several buildings on campus.

Cherokee County Georgia Courthouse. Canton, GA. (1940's).  This marble courthouse was used until 1995.  I remember going there when it was being used.  It still stands and is quite beautiful.

Bramwell High School, Bramwell, WV (1929).  Burned down 1930's.  New building closed in 1991.

5th St. Bridge.  (1947).  Parkersburg, WV.  Most bridges of this type were kits transported to the site and then assembled.  Note the bridge is part of US 21, which was truncated from West Virginia some time ago. If you have more info on this bridge please email to Usroute03@mybluelight.com.

US 21 and 52 atop East River Mtn.(1940's).  US 21 was truncated from WV in 1972 and this road is now WV Route 598 which is partially abandoned.  There is also an old overlook hotel here which is also abandoned.

The West Virginia Turnpike (1989).  Fully updated to interstate standards.  Now part of I-77 with two lanes in both directions.

Bluestone River State Park Dock near Hinton, WV (1960's).  The steel bridge in the background still carries the WV Route 20 traffic across the Bluestone River.  The bridge underwent massive repairs in 1998.  WV Route 20  was formerly WV Route 44.
