West Virginia Turnpike

The West Virginia Turnpike is an 88 mile road running from Princeton to Charleston, WV. It opened in 1954 and is now a part of Interstate 77.Below are some postcards that share the past of the turnpike. In the early days the turnpike was one lane in each direction with 6 toll booths. The Turnpike now has 3 booths and is updated to interstate standards. Toll is $1.25 at each booth.
