Windows Me is just like any new version of any software in that you need to prepare for it before you update. Always read about any software before you install it and things will go much better for you.

Things like "there is no Dos in Me" is pretty much true. If you have programs that run in Dos, you will not want to update to Me unless you first check with the software manufacturer to check for any updates or "work-around" that you may have apply. Some older software just will not work in Me.

Other things to consider is your hardware, will it work?  Maybe! Check the Windows Web Site to check for compatibility and also the OEM web site. If you don't know how to find the OEM site for your hardware go to Frank Condron's Web Site for help.
