15 Minutes Early

I am sitting on a table

In the old Education building

I am waiting for French to start

But I am fifteen minutes early

There are people walking by

And they seem in such a hurry

Here I am on this old table

Waiting for class to begin

There's a guy who's walking past me

I pretend that I don't see him

He was kind of cute though

So I glance up

But he's gone

A couple just went by

I have five minutes left to wait

The boy reaches for her hand

And I wonder if they're lovers

Martin Luther

Oprah Winfrey

And Florence Griffith-Joyner

They are pinned up on the wall

And here comes my professor

My feet have fallen asleep

From sitting on this table

I am unable to move

But I was fifteen minutes early.
