This piece of sculpture has in common with my other works carved in soapstone, the being a one of a kind original work of art. Each piece is hand-carved, filed, scraped, sanded and polished from a single block of soapstone.
This particular piece, Dominant Torso, is a result of wanting to put into or bring out of the stone (depending on how you look at it) the most breasts and the most buttocks that would fit into the stone block. The work was also influenced by the inclusion of her shoulders in a pulled back mode thereby uplifting her breasts. The resultant effect is one of a "Dominant" presence, hence the name for the sculpture, Dominant Torso.
