I recieved the movie Melody Last Summer, and I really really love it. I think Jack Wild is an incredible actor, not to mention adorable. I think he is very cute, and have had a crush on him for about a year. I wish he could match my 16 years, but oh well...I have seen him in Oliver, and that is my favorite musical. I also think tracy Hyde is a good actress and was good as the role of Melody, but Jack was my favorite...

I'm very close to my kid memories; I like to sit back, close my eyes and try to relive different moments that have touched me over the years. That is how I went back to the very first movie I saw in a theatre, Melody. That must've been in 1972. I was 9 and in love. I took Anne to see the most romantic movie ever made. One can imagine the deep impact that movie made on me on that special day. Time passed. I forgot about the movie. I recently saw Oliver, that reminded me that Mark Lester was probably the young actor playing in Melody. I retraced everything through the film database. Searching some more, I found this wonderful site. Believe me or not, tears filled up my eyes as I saw the picture of Mark and Tracy under the rain, an image that I had completely forgot about but that the print was still hidden in some drawer in my head. Thank you for all of this. Now I desperately want to see it again. I'll start my quest for an NTSC copy of Melody. If someone can help, please contact me!

Maybe your forties are the decade when nostalgia begins, but I remember seeing this film at least 10 times when it was released in Ireland in 1971 and I came upon your site because I was looking for a copy of the film. Did anyone ever have any success in tracking down copies of the film, if you did I would be grateful for the address.

Many thanks.

Excellent site by the way

This site is incredible. I didn't think such a large number of people all over the world still remember and love "Melody" and Tracy Hyde. I thought "Melody" was succeed only in Japan so only Japanese still remember it. Of course I believe this film has universal appeal and I wondered why "Melody" was bomb in US and UK. It's one of the Seven Wonders of movie history. Now I'm very glad to share my special memory about Tracy and "Melody" with people all around the world.

I'm Japanese currently living in New Zealand. When I was 13 or something, I first saw this film and was instantly attracted by Tracy. Unfortunately, I could't see this film for a long time. But last year I have opportunity to see it for the first time about 15 years. I was impressed very much again. So when I went to London last December on holiday, I visited some locations "Melody" was filmed such as fountain, pub, and school. They still remained! And when I went to Tracy's parents' home in a suburb of London, I happened to meet Tracy who came back from France with her children and husband on holiday! I could talk to her over a cup of tea!! It was one of the most wonderful experiences in my life. She was still beautiful. I contributed some photos of Melody locations I took to the following Tracy fan site in Japan. If you are interested, please look at it.

Everybody has said it all, this movie is a "keeper", a "master piece", I am Tracy's age, and at the time I also had my puppy love, you have no idea how much I cried, laugh and enjoyed this beautiful movie. I live in Los Angeles, Ca. and I have been trying to get this movie for 13 years, a lot of Americans do not know about, (I saw it in Mexico City back in 1972), which I think is a shame. Anyone, if someone can help me find a place where I can buy or at least rent this movie, please help me.

Thank you for bringing all my beautiful memories back, I'm crying already, AGAIN,.

I am just a year younger than Mark Lester, and must of felt some sought of connection to this film as the last time I saw it was Christmas 1973 when our school hired the film for a christmas treat.Yet I still can remember it after all this time. Thankyou for bringing a piece of my past back.

Hi there,

I have also been trying to get information on Melody, Tracy, Mark and Jack. I saw the movie 5 times when I was 13 years old. It was a real hit and eversince I got kids, I have telling them about this fantastic movie. I travek extensively and several occasions ask about the availability if this movie and most of the time, it was not available. I came into this wonderful site by chnace and asked my firend in Hong Kong if he could locate this VCD for me. This was like 3 months ago and I left for the US and just returned. Guess what, my firend had got me the VCD and I cannot wait to get home to show this movie to my kids. I have asked him for details of where he bought it and how much it cost. Once this is available, I will post this info again.

Thanks, Jay

You have done a magnificient job at re-kindling some very fond memories of the film and obviously of Tracy Hyde. I watch the movie when it first came out and I am now in my late 30's which says a lot about its magical attraction as a clean, romantic and lighthearted movie. Like a number of other diehards, I am also looking for a copy of the movie in Australia so that one day I can sit down with my wife and kids and tell them that, the one and only movie that made me a romantic was this one.

Thank you for you devotion in creating and maintaining this WEB Site and obviously to Tracy and her supporting cast in Melody / SWALK.

I saw the film on CBC MANY years ago and never forgot about it. Comes the video/DVD explosion and now I'm attempting to search out a copy on VHS or DVD or even PAL (can be converted to north american/canadian protocols). It's up in my top 5 or 6 best movies of all time, that nobody ever heard of actually saw. I totally identified with Mark's character and now at age 46 I find I still do.

Hi Melody fans!

First I'd like to apologize for not updating this site in quite some time. I've just been too busy to devote much time to it. I hope to add more content in the near future. It remains quite a popular site and I receive several emails every week from fans of the movie. I hear the same sentiments time and time again - "This movie really touched me" and "I thought I was the only one" Read the rest of the comments in this guestbook and you'll see you're *not* the only one.

The other question I hear all the time is "How can I buy a copy of the tape?"

I haven't promoted it much before, but I do sell a high quality copy of the movie made from my original. I can supply VHS NTSC only. Those of you who need VHS PAL will need to have it converted.

For more information just drop me a line at:

swalk@canada.com

Take care and enjoy the site :-)

I saw Melody in Singapore (then called S.W.A.L.K.) when I went to high school there. That was about 25 years ago. I'm now 39. I remember seeing it many times with my best friend, who managed to take a few photos inside the theatre! I used to have these photos but had since lost them. I used to go to the movies all the time, especially when I was in college. Once I managed to see 4 films in one day! There sure have been some great films which touched me in big ways, but for some reason this small film and an actress called Tracy Hyde just went straight into my heart and stayed there like no other movies did. Like so many of you I tried to find a video copy without any success. For 25 years I lived with the memories of this movie and an audio tape copy of the soundtrack which my friend made for me 25 years ago. I'm now married with 2 kids. About a month ago I accidentally got on a few BeeGees sites which really brought back memories of their great music in this film. I started looking again and finally found a place which carries the video (actually copies of it). I immediately bought it and, about half an hour ago, had just finished watching it. I was just as overwhelmed as I was 25 years ago! I felt that I just had to get more! I got on my PC and I simply could not believe my eyes when I found this website. Thank you so much! I've never left messages in guest books before but I really want to share my feelings with so many of you who're out there feeling the same way that I do. Thank you Tracy for giving me something that I cannot describe. I wish you and your family the best. From New Jersey

Wow! What can I say, my search is over I have been so curious to find out about this fil for so many years. I remember it as SWALK and never knew it had been changed to Melody and I always thought her name was Melanie so my chances of finding something was slim until I just decided to put Mark Lester's name on the net. I am now bowled over! I was 10 years old when I first saw this film and my parents lived only 100 yards from the cinema. Certain films has a deep and profound effect on me and this was the first one because I sincerely fell madly in love with Melody and subsequently kept going back to the cinema to sse it again and again. I cannot explain fully to you how I felt when the film went because I was devastated. I would love to see the film again to rekindle a treasured memory of my childhood. if anyone has a copy or knows how to get one please let me know. Many thanks for setting up this website I now feel all sentimental and nostalgic. Cheers Anthony Morgan now 38

Unbelievable that there should be a site dedicated to this strangely evocative film which obviously touched many in the same way it did me. I have seen it just the once - (seem to recall it was called SWALK and it was on a Sunday night on ITV in about 1977 I guess.) I remember vividly that on the other side (BBC1) The Italian Job was showing and my family was watching this so I had to watch the film on a little black and white portable with a dodgy picture upstairs. The film moved me incredibly. I can just remember snatches of it, but I remember as a 10 or 11 year old thinking that it captured the elsuive feeling of schooldays love perfectly. The next day at school everyone was talking about The Italian Job because it was probably the first time most of the lads had seen that and I really clearly remember saying - "no there was an even better film on the other side - SWALK - it was really fantastic." I'd love to see it again, I really would. Can anyone help me get a copy? Take care everyone. Matt

I'm so happy to have found this site! I saw about 3/4 of Melody when I was 15 or so. I'm now 34, and have made many attempts to track down a copy of the film over the years. I checked dozens of video shops and several public libraries, but found nothing. Then I bought a computer and went online last month. Within 48 hours of being a computer owner, I began what I thought would be another fruitless search for Melody. Not so! Thanks so much for this site. I now have my very own copy of Melody, and have seen the whole film! Watching it brought me the same wonderful sense of peace I remember feeling so many years ago. The tape is now one of my prized possessions!

Greetings. I first saw "Melody" on commercial TV while living in the Los Angeles area in the mid seventies. I was in high school then. I spent the next TWENTY YEARS hunting down the video, acquiring along the way an original Beta version which I had transferred to VHS and finally a VHS copy (sadly, not an original.) Early on I managed to obtain a Japanese LP record of the soundtrack. This film seems essentially forgotten and unknown except to a few. I still cannot explain the wave of euphoria that seems to accompany the finale (and which lasts quite a while, despite having seen the film so many times.) I don't believe I've ever felt this intense after viewing a motion picture or that I've ever seen a story this heart-warming. I welcome discussion of the story, it's meaning or moral if you will, anything at all.

Wow, I never thought that such a website would exist. I could not believe there are so much information available about Tracy Hyde. Being a Tracy Hyde fan, it is like winning the Lotto. More importantly, I can share information and exchange my feelings about the movie with other die-hard Melody or Tracy Hyde fans. I could not believe that there are overhelming global supporting fans of Melody and Tracy Hyde. Psychologically, the movie played a significant role in shaping us into grown-ups.

I think we should form a Melody support group and petition David Puttnam and Alan Parker or Waris Hussein into re-making of Melody . I think the movie will be a hit. Well, we watched then, and we will watch it again.

About this site, all I can say is that this is a top-notch performance. Keep up the good work.

I echo the sentiments of those before me, what an excellent site. I too could not believe so many people would remember Melody so fondly. I was an 11 year old primery schoolboy in the Midlands when I first saw Melody on ITV, although they called it s.w.a.l.k. From then on, everytime I visited London I had nostalgic feelings about dirty London brick walls, railway archways and rubble sites. I never imagined that years later I would be living and working in the London Borough of Lambeth where much of the film is located (I get a similar feeling watching the Double Deckers, although Melody beat Tiger every time.) Can anyone give me the exact address of the site the school was located. Cheers. D

Hello, Im Mary, and Im from Texas,USA. The first time I saw this movie I was also about the same age. And in love. I remmber it was one evening and I saw it on TV. Got into it and have loved it ever since.I had a super big crush on Mark Lester at the time and I thought Tracy Hide was perfict Melody, she seemed to fit the part pefectly. It was as if the part was made for her especialy. I realy ejoyed it very much. As I got older, I tried to find the movie on tape and found it at a book store for a heavty price. But I now own it and Im glad. Im now 34 years old and married , have to boys ages 8 and 2 and still think its one of the best movies I have ever seen. I had even planed on naming our first little girl Melody Danelle, but I have not been that lucky. This is a grate website and thanks for making it for evryone to enjoy who has loved the movie. Its really grate . Thanks Mary

Hi there, What a coincidence, i was out in the car the other night and my girlfriend had on a Bee Gees CD and i said that First of May was one of my favourite songs by the Bee Gees and it was from a film that i enjoyed as a child. So we looked it up on the IMDB and got to you somehow. I downloaded some of the Video clips and they brought back some memories. Am i right in thinking that Melody was Tracy's only film? Nice page .

First of all, thank you for this site let me knew the recent living of Tracy. I used to see Melody many times when I was teenager in the cinema in front of my high school where it was play very often. Now I'm 35 year old and I got a VCD from my friend and I saw it the first time after 20 years. It is such a wonderful feeling that I don't know how to describe. But then I was so eager to know the recent news of these actors especailly Tracy. Thank God I found this site and knew she is living very well and still beautiful. I havn't seen the clip show of the 're-union' part because my real-player is a bit old, now I'm downloading the newer version while sending this comments. Is about time to go back to the vedio clip, thanks again for the great effort you've done on this site. Jacky fr. Hong Kong

Especially, it didn't think that it was seen in the TV program in Japan. (I am Japanese but missed the TV program.) ...Thank you for making this home page!

Mark Lester fans will be happy to hear that Nazuna has done us a wonderful favour by uploading Mark Lester's single "Gakuen Seikatsu/The Queen of Summer" at http://www2.freeweb.ne.jp/~melody71/Mark/ It's listed as track01. It's a beautiful Japanese song that Mark recorded in the 1970s. Also, Mark fans can check out the Mark Yahoo club at http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/marklester where we have also posted Melody pictures/scans (Photo Album #3).

Oh, how I love this movie!

I first saw it when I was 16, on television: "The Eight O'Clock Movie" on WPIX-TV in NYC. This was 1976. Actually, I started watching it right about the time Daniel spies Melody in ballet class. I loved it, and Tracy Hyde, at first site!

A few months later, I tracked down a used record store that had the soundtrack album. I paid $10 for it, and still have it. It's one of my prized possessions.

I wrote to the station that ran the movie asking for a repeat, but it didn't happen for over two years. Finally, WPIX put it on again - at 1 am! I set up my Super 8 movie camera and filmed a few scenes off the TV, including the cemetery scene. I also audio taped the movie. I couldn't understand why I didn't hear "Melody Fair" sung in the film. I didn't realize until years later that WPIX cut the goldfish scene entirely.

In 1983, AVCO/Embassy Video released "Melody" on VHS in America, and I bought it for $59.95. I made a "viewing copy," which was a good thing because my original was later stolen! I still have the viewing copy, which really isn't much different from the original. In fact, I watched it last night. The film still touches me - I love to watch it when I'm feeling a little melancholy and need to remember just how wonderful romance can be.

I'm SO VERY GLAD that Tracy did not end up in tragedy like many child actors, but appears to lead a happy and fulfilling life. I got a big kick out of the 1994 "reunion" with her and Mark. So she has three sons, and he has three daughters? Wouldn't it be interesting if some day....?

While waiting for WPIX to air "Melody" again, I collected a number of reviews from area newspapers and magazines on microfilm. This site has most of them, but I'll send the ones you don't have in a separate email.

Thanks again for this wonderful site for the most wonderful movie I've ever seen. Nothing has surpassed it even 24 years after my first viewing.

What a wonderful tribute to a charming film. I saw Melody one afternoon on television in the late 70's. I'm 32 now and was drawn to this site while trying to find the movie again. The Bee Gees title song would get stuck in my head from time to time and I was happy to see a lyric sheet. (I had mutiliated the lyrics in my head)I loved the photos, videos and slide show. The Japanese reunion video was great too. I don't know why this movie struck me then or why I gravitate to it now and again. Thanks for satisfying a long standing niche craving for info.

I can't tell you how pleased I was to find your site! I saw the film when I was 10 and it has haunted me ever since. I'm now 38! "Sock it to me Ornshaw" from the disco scene has been a family catchphrase ever since. I'm told you can get vhs copies from the US but of course they're not compatible with european systems - I'll follow up the swalk@canada.com link anyway. Why is the film never shown given the Alan Parker/Roy Kinnear/Bee Gees link let alone Wild and Lester? There's money to be made here!

I saw this wonderfull movie when I was 15. The songs combined with great love story of innocent children remains in my mind until now. Of course it is very difficult to get a hold of a video in NTSC format in USA.I lived in Malaysia then and the film was even shown on Television there. The first time it came out I remember me and my friends competing to see how many times we would see it. My friend beat me.....17 times! Such wonderful times..innocent times..nostalgic...a wonderful touching film..great music by the Bee Gees too. Boy could they write great songs. I remember them as the closest anyone got to the Music Gods..The BEATLES! Then of course they went disco!!! Could you PLEASE get a copy for me at the reasonable price you mentioned? I want my kids to see and feel what I felt...Romance never dies you know.Of course we were all in love with little Tracy! Ray Williams

Thanks as always to Nazuna for information. I gather from your message of 30th january that Tracy has re-married but is still living in France. Is this right? I also wondered if she has had more children with her new husband, as her children with her first husband must be older than those in the reunion 99 clip. Glad to see she is as beautiful as ever! This is a great site, but it took so long to find. It only seems to come up on AltaVista searches! I guess I should have checked Altavista ages ago. I have been a fan of Mark Lester's since 1969 and first saw Melody in 1971 at the cinema. I watched the reunion clips from 1994 as well as the 1999 one. They're great!!! Looks like Tracey has a new husband named Cyril so maybe she's living back in England. Items about "Melody" come up on ebay sometimes. I have the video, Japanese CD, and a Mexican 45 EP which has 4 songs and a colour cover. Other items that sometimes come up include the Laser Disc which goes for about $40 U.S. and photos from the movie.

Keep up the good work and thanks to the fans from Japan who are contributing great things,

Thanks from a Mark fan in Canada!

I first saw Melody in 1986 by chance when I had the day off work. The film, quite simply, opened my eyes to adolescent love and sentiment, and has inspired me ever since with great joy and hapiness. Tracy was wonderful, Jack and Mark were great and the music was fantastic. No other film affected me so much...

The last time the film was broadcast in the UK was, I believe, in 1988 or 89, having been broadcast before around November 1986.

If anyone knows where I can obtain any Japanese Screen or Roadshow magazines featuring Tracy, or any other Melody related items, then I'd be grateful if would e-mail me. Additionally, if anyone can make a copy of the film for me...

I have the Original Soundtrack LP with a 'Post-It' note type sticker on the fornt with 'S.W.A.L.K.' (sadly my only item from the film).

I suspect that once the weather warms up in the UK, I will undertake a site/locations visit!

Now, all I need are the autographs of Tracy, Mark and Jack. That could be tricky. Jack Wild will still have an agent of course, so I shall write to him - any ideas / suggestions for Tracy Hyde and Mark Lester.

Anyway, great Web site - keep up the good work!

Robin

AND OF COURSE I GOT IN LOVE WITH TRACY HYDE. WHO COULDNīT? YEARS PASSED, BUT HER IMAGE REMAINED STUCK IN MY MIND. I LEARNED ENGLISH A LOT. I WATCHED THE FILM AGAIN IN 1978 AND 1983, WHEN VIDEO CLUBS SPREAD ALL OVER ARGENTINE CITIES. NOW, INTERNET GAVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW SOMETHING NEW ABOUT HER. DID SHE MARRY? HAS SHE ANY CHILDREN? I THINK SHE STILL IS A VERY NICE GIRL. I REMEMBER HER AND ALL MELODYīS CHILDREN> MARK LESTER AND JACK WILD. I SUPPOSE FOR EX. girls like SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR (although she acts in different movie themes and style), are the new Tracy Hydes in the Cinema. But Tracy is just...unique!!!

This is a followup from Nazuna;

Oh.I could not make myself understood, could I?

Tracy had been operated on for appendicitis, by the time she was 17 years old.

Is a above sentence correct?

The mark of the operation for appendicitis. It was written in the column of the characteristic of the body of her passport. reference data from "ROADSHOW", July 1977.

I travelled to London several times , I love London , to me London and "Melody" are the same thing. I can relate to the story in "Melody", for in my younger years I too fell in love with this girl in my school . I'm almost 42 years old today , but in my heart I'll always be in love with "Melody"

Although she made only one really noteworthy film nearly 30 years ago, Tracy Hyde has certainly had a lasting impact. I've run across several sites already, of which this one is probably the best. I had the feeling when I first saw "Melody" back in 1971 that she would grow into a very beautiful woman, which she has. One line from a preview said, "...you will never forget Tracy Hyde as Melody". How true. At a time when producers were avoiding the "G" rating like the plague and child actresses were beginning to push the envelope towards kiddie-porn, Tracy Hyde and "Melody" proved to be a refreshing change of pace. Glad to hear that she's alive, well and happy. About the only thing that would make this site complete would be some sort of message from Tracy herself, hopefully she realizes that she still has a lot of fans who wish her the best.

What a wonderful website - such memories it brings back....

Who as a young boy didn't fall in love when they first saw this film ? A time gone, but thankfully not forgotten - thank you for rekindling the happy innocence of that time when I first saw (and yes, fell for...) Melody.

For those of you who have been unable to locate an original tape of melody (I know how hard it is - it's pretty much impossible) Drop me a line at  swalk@canada.com and I can get you a high quality copy for only US$25 ( half the price of vsom.) And unlike vsom,  if you are not happy with the tape you may return it for a refund.

I can't believe I found a Melody website. When I saw it in 1983 (I was 16) the wave of nostalgia for the early 70's was amazing. For many years I had a fascination with the film and last year had the chance to meet Mark Lester and Jack Wild through a friend of mine, Peter Vaughan Clarke, who played Stephen in The Tomorrow People. I declined as I imagine it would be a little embarrassing. Congratulations on your hard work and don't worry about the hitches! )

Hello everyone! I am now the proud owner of a “Melody” video tape. I’m probably the only person in Sydney, Australia who has a copy of this wonderful movie. Boy! It was so hard to find! I  ordered it through the Internet . It cost me US$45 (including parcel delivery and membership fee) using credit card and it took only seven days to arrive. After 28 years I was able to see this movie again! Goodness! George Lucas makes you wait only 16 years to see his next Star Wars sequel (or rather prequel). But to wait 28 years to see the same wonderful movie again I think is quite dreadful!

Frankly, I was quite afraid that I might be disappinted with this “Melody” movie if I see it again now that I’m 42 years old. That it might not bring the same joy and happiness to me as it did back in 1971. But I assure you my fears were groundless. It is as joyful and heartwarming as ever and Tracy Hyde is more beautiful than ever. After 28 years there were many scenes in the movie that have been erased from my memory. I could only remember the more vivid ones like the cemetery scene, seaside gallivanting, the music room scene and the cafeteria scene. I think now I have a better appreciation of the storyline. The music, of course, is a big part of the movie.

I was 14 years old when I first saw this movie in the Philippines in 1971. I saw it several times and I always hoped and prayed that there would be a sequel to this movie . . . sadly it never came. I must confess that I always felt a twinge of sadnes towards the end of the movie (when “Teach Your Children” was being played) and when Daniel and Melody were rolling away in their track trolley (or whatever you call it) and the camera was rising in the air. I was sad because the movie was ending and I didn’t want it to end. I wanted Ornshaw, Daniel, Melody and the rest of the bunch to be together again. I wanted it to go on and on and on . . . . 28 years ago.

Now is the 16th of May 1999 (in Australia) and we celebrate the 40th birthday of Tracy Constance Marguerite Hyde (married name: unknown) and who in 1971 gave such joy to our hearts. Unfortunately I do not know her current address otherwise I’ll send her a birthday card. But if there is anyone out there who personally know her or have direct contact with her can you please extend my greetings to her. And can you also please tell her that she is the dearest and the most beloved one of our generation throughout the world. But then she probably already knows this.

Thank you for your web site and for this opportunity to pay tribute to Tracy Hyde.

Regards

Edwin

This is a wonderful site! I have been looking for information on the film "Melody" for quite a long time, since I saw it on PBS several years ago. I have tried all avenues to find a home video version, but still have had no luck. Your web site is very well done! The design is extremely tasteful, the layout is simple and user friendly, and the amount of information you have here is truly extraordinary! I am so glad you included some video clips as well. I love them, especially the cemetary scene which is one of my favorites. Kudos on the fantastic job you've done here. Web sites like this are hard to find!

I can't remember much about the film S.W.A.L.K (Melody)but I do remember It was wonderful. I saw it on television around about 1975 - 76. My strongest recollection was that mixture of sadness and joy when the movie ended - like falling in love! I would love to see the movie again but like many others I can't find a source. If anyone out there can relate to my plight and help I would be very grateful ...I can copy any format and would return in perfect condition ...maybe I can do you a favour in return? Lorne

I found this Web site purely by chance when I was looking at a Mark Lester web site. Somehow I ended up in your Melody/Tracy Hyde Fan Club homepage and what a delight it is! For the last 27 years I have been looking for any bit of information about Tracy Hyde; what further movies she made, what has become of her, what studies she undertook, wether she's still alive!!!(Did she become a drug addict like Drew Barrymore!)Anything!!!. I have searched far and wide, high and low but ended up with nothing. I have written to TV magazines, search all the libraries, read all kind of books and have surfed the Internet and got nowhere (until now!).

To tell you the truth, Tracy Hyde has been the greatest enigma to me these last 27 years. She was the most beautiful face that ever graced the silver screen (probably more beautiful than Elizabeth Taylor!!!). Then after seeing her in "Melody" (several times) in 1971 nothing more was heard of her. Absolute zero!!! Thanks to your web site my search is over. I know now that she has gotten married and living happily in France with three sons.

I first saw "Melody" in the Philippines in 1971 and it was the most memorable movie I ever saw. The actors, performances and the music are all unforgettable. It was a minor hit in the Philippines (probably because it was not promoted well and was shown in only a few movie theaters - and the political climate at that time was not conducive star idolatry). But everyone I know who saw the movie simply loved it!

Ever since the advent of VCR's (and Betamaxs') in the late 70's, I have been looking for a video copy of "Melody" in the Philippines. I believe it was never released on video in the Philippines. Now I am living in Australia and I'm still looking for a copy of the video. It seems it was also never released on video here in Australia. Can anyone tell me where I can order a video copy (the system in Australia is PAL)?

A final comment on your web site. I have used all search engines (Yahoo!, AltaVista, Lycos, etc.)to look for Info about Tracy Hyde but didn't come up with anything. Does it cost anything to register your site with these search engines? Perhaps it is worth the cost.

Thank you for your effort in this wonderful web site. It has been such a delight!

Edwin

TV crew went to UK.They placed an advertisement in the newspaper "The Stage" in order to look for Tracy. They went to the publishing company of SPOTLIGHT and searched the data of Tracy, and They connected with her office which has appeared in it, but she had already resigned there.

They waited for the advertising reaction of "The Stage",Then they heard from a classmate of Tracy and met him in Camden (?) park He looked at the picture of package of videotape and said that Tracy had been also idol in school and Tracys parents' home was North Cheam. Moreover he taught them the address of Tracys parents' home.

They went to that address, but the different man already lived in the address. He said he had lived here since 3 years before and didn't know who had lived here before. Of course he didn't know Tracy. But A woman who had lived in a house opposite side of a road knew Tracy. She said Tracy was a goodnatured girl and had lived here to 18 years old after having been born. Then, They got a fax from a woman who knows Tracys present address. She was working for casting of the 70s movies and well knew Tracy, Mark and Jack.

I just wanted to say that I am glad that I came across this page. I had wanted to set up a Melody/Tracy Hyde page up for sometime, but never got around doing so. Its a great page. I am a big fan of Melody and of course Tracy Hyde. I first saw this film when I was 10 years old. I didn't get the chance too see it again unitl about 13 years later. It brought back such memories. I can relate to the film so much because I was brought up around that area where the film was filmed. I know all the locations and visit there so often as families live near by. It is the best film I have ever seen as a child or as an adult and I am so grateful that it was made.

I thought I was a big Tracy Hyde fan, but it seems like there is more out there!!!
