How could it possibly be four years since the tragic Oklahoma City bombing?  The memories in my mind of that fateful day are as clear today as  when it happened.  Time may help to heal all wounds but it doesn't seem to do much for memories.

My husband and I were living in Ponca City, OK when this horrible deed occurred.  Little did I know that our lives would be forever changed.  The first day or two were filled with fear for our own safety because we didn't know who had actually bombed the Murrah Building.   Was it terrorists from another country?  My husband was working for a petroleum plant and I just knew any moment the second tragedy would occur there.

Of course, it didn't take long for the truth to come out.  I will never understand....ever....how Timothy McVeigh could have murdered 168 innocent people.  Men, women, children, babies.....even unborn babies.

Didn't he ever stop to think of the people's lives he was affecting?  Not just the families of the victims but people like me, like you whose hearts were shattered.  Didn't he ever stop to think that one of those children may have grown up to discover the cure for some horrible disease or be a great leader of our country?  Didn't he ever stop to think the people in Waco had a choice to leave the compound?  The people in the Murrah Building didn't have that choice.

There are now 168 angels in Heaven who left the Earth before their time.  But we know they are in God's loving arms whole, happy and forever safe.

"Gone to live with Jesus,
Yet again we hope to meet thee.
When the day of life is fled
And in Heaven with joy to greet thee,
Where no farewell tears are shed."
