My grandfather Alexander McDonald McEwan was born
November 1, 1862 and lived in Govan, Scotland. He was an angle
ironsmith by trade, which was remarkable for his 5'6" and 130lb frame.
He was a very quiet man with brown hair and brown eyes, smoked a pipe
and always wore a deep-sea cap.
Alexander married Elizabeth
Montgomery.
Elizabeth was the eldest child of David and Elizabeth Montgomery,
was born and lived in Paisley, had a sister Mary and a brother Harry.
Elizabeth was a servant before her marriage. She was 5'8" and 120lbs
and her hair and eyes were brown.
After their marriage they relocated
to Renfrew, Scotland where their 10 chlldren were born.

Alexander crushed his foot while working, it never healed and
contributed to his death in 1937.
Elizabeth had a heart condition and was bedridden for many years, she died on January 1,
1947.
