Archibald, my great grandfather and our first known ancestor was born in Govan Scotland in 1832 where he lived all of his life. There is no documentation as to whether he had siblings, and the names of his
parents are unknown, however, we can speculate that his father's name
was Alexander, following in the tradition that a first born son receives the
name of his paternal grandfather.
Archibald married Catherine
MacDonald. Other than being born on the Isle of Islay there is
no other information on Catherine. Archibald and Catherine had one son named Alexander McDonald McEwan. Archibald died in 1920. Catherine's date of death is unknown. |
