Criminal Justice!!

Everyone wonders why the crime rate is soaring,
I will endeavor to tell you without being
boring.
The problem begins up on parliament hill,
With Pierre and his gang and our own Kaiser
Bill.
.
The liberals, they started, by axing the noose,
Then worked upon turning most criminals loose.
This they began with the bail reform act,
And into a corner the police were soon backed.
.
Over the next several years we saw Justice
decline,
And criminals were doing, less and less time.
It got to the point where they rarely saw
jail,
As most were released without posting bail.
.
When finding we thought we had slowed the
decline,
Our own fearless prosecutors stepped into
line.
It's time that we worked out a new system,
they said,
So crown counsel reports can be more easily
read.
.
Then along came the check sheets for each
different charge,
Which succeeded in making our reports very
large.
Now instead of a one or a two page report,
It has blossomed to ten, taking hours to sort.
.
As it all these changes were not bad enough,
They don't even bother to read half the stuff.
Instead some reports are returned to the scribe,
Asking for info that's contained right inside.
.
And now the crown counsel have altered their
aim,
They have started to play a more frightening
game.
They have bypassed the cops and court system
too,
And now it's the inmates who are running the
zoo.
.
They started out small with just minor cases,
Which were dropped from their caseload leaving
no traces.
We are close to the point where we won't need
the courts,
As crown counsel continue to ignore our reports.
.
I think it is time I concluded this poem,
I hope it has served to drive my point home.
That crown should be trying those crooks that
are caught,
And leave the courts to decide who is guilty
or not!!!
