All of my Sneaky 32-bit
Visual Basic Tools are nagware, which basically means you get to download the tools and
use them forever if you can put up with frequent, annoying
splash screens (tastefully small), while the whole time knowing you should
send in the pitifully inadequate
registration fee to ease your troubled conscience and help put my seven kids (honest!)
through college. You live daily with the knowledge that it's the right thing to do--after
all, you're using the product to develop something that you hope others will buy, right?
What goes around comes around, right? But noooooo...,
you hang onto the miserable ten or twenty bucks it would take to get that great, legitimate feeling (and, oh yes, free technical
support) and you use it instead to buy a pizza and a few videos and you go on feeling
guilty, struggling with a nagging conscience,
seeing your therapist but frequently unable to sleep, unable to look people in the eye,
until suddenly you snap and open fire on a
line of shoppers at Wal-Mart. Not a pretty picture.
IPBandit 1.0.1
Description: IP
configuration control. Gathers all IP-related configuration information for all installed
network adapters (even dial-up) and exposes the information as properties. Includes
Release and Renew methods to communicate with a DHCP server. (Note: My special ExportTicks
property allows the control's internal timer to be used for other purposes in your
application, so you don't have to include a separate timer control.)
