The Hearts (members Justine Washington, Anna Barnhill, Joyce Peterson and Theresa ?) (The Hearts were a female group (with a rotating membership) formed in New York City by Zell Sanders in 1954. (among the groups members were Zell Sanders, Joyce James and Joyce Peterson)

Baton 222 - Goin' Home To Stay / Disappointed Bride -1956 (with Rex Garvin on piano) This is the only released recording by The Hearts that Justine Washington sang on.

The Jaynetts

J&S 1765/1766 - I Wanted To Be Free / Where Are You Tonight - 1958 (this 45 is actually "Baby" Washington singing lead on two songs for The Hearts, that had been recorded in 1957. This set of The Jaynetts was Zell Sanders (the president of J &S records) way of keeping all The Hearts various members together and also of having enough members to form two groups. Zell Sanders would not use this name again for another five years)
