'Press Gang,' which ran on the BBC from 1989-1993, was arguably one of the best young adults' television shows ever made. The series focused on editor Lynda Day (Julia Sawalha) and her staffers at the 'Junior Gazette,' a young people's paper in the fictional English town of Norbridge.

One of the series' recurring themes was the on-again, off-again romance Lynda had with American reporter Spike Thompson (Dexter Fletcher). You know what? I hate Spike. He reminds me of a couple of my ex-boyfriends. I've always felt Lynda would have been better off with her lifelong best friend, sweet-natured Kenny Phillips (Lee Ross). Consequently, this page will highlight some fanfic I've written following this idea.

All of the stories I've written so far have managed to fall into the same timeline--starting about six months after the end of the series and continuing up to the present or near future. And yes, Spike's career choice in this collection is out of character. I told you, I hate his character as is! *laughs* So, if it bothers you, don't take it too seriously. This is just a fan's wishful thinking....

After three years in Australia, Kenny Phillips returns to England to find that a few things have changed. What's a man to do? Read "In the Ordinary World" to find out.
