United Power Products Production ends January 1, 2007.

There will be bids out there for United power products for a number of years to come.  The scramble now is that every PE that has specified United Power surge suppression  devices will needs an alternative product.

We have that alternative product:

The cost savings will be significant and is not intended to provide a competitive edge. Please contact us at

Model CP surge suppression systems are a cost-effective means of applying Category C tested TVSS at the distribution panel environment. Compact Parallel systems are available in one stage (L-N), two stage (L-N and N-G), or three stage (L-N, N-G, L-G) configurations and provide 40,000 amps minimum in each suppression pathway.

Out industry-proven hybrid technology features three different surge suppression components, to provide you with the most advanced transient suppression platform in the industry today. Silicon Avalanche Diodes (SAD) ensure we catch the damaging, leading edge of the transient with its <1ns response time. Large 40mm Metal Oxide Varistors (MOV) provide the ability to divert high surge current (40 kA). A filter network is also featured in each protection mode to provide UL 1283-listed noise suppression capability.

Model CP systems are manufactured in many popular voltage configurations (split-phase and three-phase WYE) to meet your lighting panel or individual load requirement. Contact your local United Power sales representative, or the factory direct, for sales and applications assistance.

Module Retrofitted to panelRetrofit Model CP Onto Existing Lighting Panels

One of the most popular applications for Model CP TVSS is to retrofit the system onto an existing lighting panel. The system may be field installed using a chase (close) fitting or with a United Power flexible interconnecting flexible cable. Simply position the Model CP adjacent to the branch circuit breaker that will serve as its disconnect device. Model CP is an ideal means of protecting all of the critical loads on the panelboard with a single, performance-oriented, IEEE C62.41 Category C rated TVSS device.
