My Graduation Page

Well, Welcome to my GRADUATION page.

I graduated from my high school on June 21, 1999 (Summer Solstice!) around 6 pm. Graduation was held outside for the first time since our high school was built. It was quite sunny until twilight, where the stars started to dot the sky. I know this because I was blinded half the ceremony by that late evening sun. But when it was all over, there was no weeping for this web mistress. Not Ah!

In fact, I forgot all about marching back out with the rest of the class. I ran right over to my best friend, Anissa and hugged her. All I could do was bounce around with glee when it was all over. I forgot all my contempt I had for my childhood bullies. I forgot about the tragic pain that had all occurred during those four years.

That night was the Post Grad. Party (the party that has screwed up my sleeping pattern for the rest of the summer). We all piled onto buses and headed for a night in a spa in Granby (or somewhere like that. I don't pay much attention to direction after 10 pm). There was dancing (which I did a little bit), swimming (which I didn't do), volleyball (which I didn't want to do), and ice skating (which I couldn't do, for some reason. Usually I can skate around a little bit, but I couldn't even move that night. And I had a hell of a time trying. Either the ice was weird or my knees were knocking just a little too much. My friends, Sam and Mitch, had to help me off the ice. "Oh My Goddess!")I hugged friends and snapped off pictures the whole night.

A few days after Graduation, I finally felt free. Released from being an outcast. Released from my need to want to belong. I could be me and have fun. No one would ever look down on me that way again. It was quite a rush. I will finally be equal.

Summer was starting to get awesome. Even thou I was working a lot, I had lots of time to actually experience the lazy days of summer. Hang out with my friends, visit local sites, or just sit outside reading. I stayed up late almost every night, updating my websites and creating new ones. Watch the stars and moon through my telescope, while playing with the fireflies. I could do all this and still bring home over hundred dollar pay checks every week. So my college spending money fund was looking pretty good. I might travel a little. My parents want to go to Canada or Alaska. I want to go to New Jersey. "Why Jersey?" you ask. If you've seen the movie, "Clerks", and been to this website, "http://falcon.jmu.edu/~gittinkr/clerks.html", you'd know what I mean. I need my picture taken in front of RST Video and Quick Stop Mini Mart!

High School, and the many years before it, may have been the worst years of my life. I hope that was the last of them. But even thou they were horrible (and even thou I went to school with and came head on with some of the cruelest people I think I've ever meant), there were still some spots of sunshine. I glad I'm friends with the people I'm friends with. I wouldn't be able to survive without them. And I hope I see them many many times in the future. And I was so glad my sister, Julia, and I finally started to actually get along this year. We were a great first doubles team for our school's tennis team. I loved looking over at her, after a point, and having the same expression on my face as hers. That was what made us league champs. We were truly connected (for once!!). I will miss playing tennis with her next year.

Mitch Levesque: Mitch will save the world someday.

Merrily Chopp: She is quite a nifty character, which will make her films awesome!

Dorothy Koch: We will get Richie with both plans. This is to be sure. He'll look so neat!

Dan Reynolds: I will miss him a lot and I hope to see him in the Spring at my college.

Jill Sweetland: She is so fun to hang out with and I hope she visits Katie and me at our dorm.

Dani Ives: I hope she stops by our dorm on the way to Mark's. We will have a gas can waiting for her.

Stan Orlowski: It was a pleasure having a locker next to such a nice fellow!

Jedd Dodds: It was always a pleasure playing computer games with him in the computer lab and borrowing his 8-Man movie for a year.

Matt Neubelt: He owes me a hell of a lot of money in five years. See you at the reunion, Matt!

Carrie Uccello: Well I won't miss this person! But I can say her cruelty through my life thus far has made me a stronger person. And I am thankful for that.

My Thoughts: I expect college to be one wild ride. I know it'll be tough, but anything to fight my way closer to my destiny, right? I'm sure I'll put up websites about my experiences at college, so expect to see that (after all, this is my favorite past time!). It will be fun and I'll finally be able to start over. I look forward making new friends and, maybe, being noticed by the male population... finally. The only problem; I'm not an outcast anymore. Damn! This going to take some getting use to. J
Good Luck to my fellow graduates! Destiny works in the strangest ways.
