Chili Con Carne Pie

1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
1 (1lb) can tomato, cut up
1 (20oz) can kidney beans, drained
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
1 box corn bread mix

Cook onion, garlic and beef until beef is well browned.  Stir in tomato sauce,
tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder and 1 teaspoon salt.  Simmer 10 minutes, stirring
occasionally.  Meanwhile, mix cornbread according to directions on box.  Place hot
filling in shallow 2-quart baking dish.  Spoon cornbread around edge of dish.  Bake in
425* oven 15 to 18 minutes until golden.  Makes 6 servings.
