Mexican Pizza

1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk
1 lb ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1 (15oz) can refried beans
1 (4oz) can chopped green chili
1 (9oz) jar taco sauce
3 green onions, sliced
2 cup shredded Jack or Cheddar cheese

Mix flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly. Mix
in milk with fork until dough forms. Turn dough onto floured board and knead until smooth.
Roll into 13 inch circle and place on ungreased cookie sheet or pizza pan. Pinch edge to form
1 inch rim. Heat oven to 400*. Meanwhile cook beef and garlic in a skillet, breaking up
meat into bits. When meat is lightly browned, drain off excell fat. Spread pizza dough
with beans, then spread with meat mixture. Layer on green chili and taco sauce. Sprinkle
with onions. Pour over taco sauce. Top with cheese. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until
crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbling. You can also add tortilla chips or
Doritoes on top of the pizza when it comes out of the oven.
