The authors
They have a unique understanding and perspectives of Taiwan:
- Sally Chen was born in Taiwan, and was educated in Canada. She taught English all over Taiwan since 1988.
- Peter Taylor was born and raised in the west coast of Canada, he has been teaching in Taiwan on and off since 1991. He first came to Taiwan to study Mandarin, now he is fluent.
- The couple met in Taiwan, now married and live in Northern Taiwan. They are still teaching and pursuing trade opportunities in Taiwan and Mainland China.

We wrote the guide after answering numerous questions from our friends, from their
friends and from all those confused foreigners we befriended in Taiwan and other parts of Asia. Many of them suggested we put this information on paper.
