About the Fae: A brief Introduction.
Every society and culture since time immoreal has told stories of
them. Tales of a race of creatures co-exhisting with us on the fringes
and bounds of most peoples perceptions. Many names have been attributed
to them over the centuries as I am sure you know of a few. Faeries,
The Wee Folk, The little People, The Tuatha De Dannann, Et al. The
names are endless for the differing Fae that have been encountered, and
the tales told of them seemingly perpetual.
Now get rid of that notion in your mind of cute little Winged creatures
flying about at dusk and wearing toadstools as hats. Their
common forms are varied, and there are indeed creatures like the above
image that Walt Disney has indoctrinated us on. The Fae are seperated
into many forms, personalities and temperments. Many are the "atypical"
variety that you visualise and mean no harm, while others would simply
tear your throat out for the pleasure of it. They are like us in
many ways, and thier temperments may lay along any point in the spectrum.
Luckily for the Layperson however, that the vast majority of them are only
able to take physical form for a short period of time, and thusly, their
interaction with the physical is limited. Building a relationship
with the Fae is rewarding once accomplished, and NEVER boring. I
will eventually expand upon many aspects of thier habits, personalities
and such, but only as I have encountered them on a personal or working
level.
