It was late Friday evening. She was on her way home from work.
It had been another busy week and she had not had the chance to do a
lot of grocery shopping. Her refrigerator was almost completely empty so she
decided to stop off at the grocery store on her way home.

items she needed. She never really paid attention to the other shoppers, but
this time she couldn’t help but notice the woman in the produce section.
She was tall, dark and she moved with a grace unlike any she had ever

The blonde couldn’t help but stare at the dark woman.
“This one is way out of your league, Shorty.” She said to herself.
“Just look at her. The woman is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. And besides, who
says she likes women anyway.”
She decided to forget about the dark haired beauty and continued her
shopping.
She wasn’t very successful though. Her mind still strayed to the
brunette.
But as her eyes searched for the woman, she noticed she was no longer
there.
“Ok that figures. She’s gone. Ah well that was to be expected I guess.”
She scanned the various fruits and vegetables in the produce section
and her eyes fell upon something she hadn’t had in a long time.
“Oh strawberries!” she said to herself “I love those”
She maneuvered the cart to the strawberries. As she reached out to pick
up a berry for tasting, she suddenly found herself touching a smooth tanned
hand with very long slim fingers.
She looked up and her breath caught as she stood there staring in deep
blue eyes smiling back at her from underneath dark bangs.
She gave the dark haired woman a sheepish grin and said, “Oh sorry. I
hadn’t noticed you there. I was just going to taste a strawberry.”
She noticed the other woman made no attempt to pull back her hand.
Instead she felt nails softly run across the back of her hand and up to her
wrist.
“Yeah so was I.” The brunette said. “I love strawberries, don’t you?”
The blond nodded as the other woman continued.
“So sweet and succulent. I love the way they feel in my mouth.”
The blonde gulped as blue eyes continued to stare into green.
She blinked a few times to make sure this was not a dream.
‘Is she coming on to me?’ she asked herself. ‘Ok. Stupid question.

“Uh yeah I do” The blonde said. “I wanted to make sure they were sweet

The brunette took this to be her cue so she took a strawberry and
raised it to the blonde’s mouth. She held the berry against her lips and gasped

All the while blue and green eyes

Green eyes closed momentarily. She then looked at the brunette and she
knew she was about to do something she had never done before and thought

The brunette smiled and taking the blonde’s hand in her own, she also
picked up the strawberries.
“Ok let’s go pay for this and get out of here.” The brunette said.
“Let’s not forget the berries, we might need them later. “
They walked out to their cars, which surprisingly were parked close
together. After placing the groceries in the trunks of their cars, the brunette
spoke softly, “If you just follow me, we’ll be there in about 5 minutes.”
Practically, running back to her car, the blonde replied. “Right behind
you.”
Thinking to herself the blonde was amazed at this step she has taken.
‘She’s so beautiful and to think we both love strawberries. What a wonderful
way to end this week.’ Smiling to herself, she followed the brunettes’ car out
of Kroger’s parking lot and onto the street.
Licking her lips she still tasted the strawberry and the taste of the

The brunette was watching the Ford pull out behind her. ‘Wow… I’ve

desperately to pick up the dispersed items while holding on to the other bag.

Giggling they both started to talk at once.

“Let’s just see if we can get this stuff up on the counter. Why don’t
you give me that bag and I’ll put it away for you.”
The blonde handed over the bag and continued to pick up the scattered
items.
As she walked over to the counter and put down some cans, the blonde
said, “thanks for your help. By the way my name is Carolyn.”
“Oh yeah I guess we never did introduce ourselves did we? My name is
Pam.”
Both women smiled and at the same time said “Pleased to meet you.”
This caused more giggles to erupt.
As they finished putting away the groceries, Pam turned to Carolyn.
“Would you like a glass of wine or something?” Pam said
“Well actually I’m not really a wine drinker. You don’t happen to have
any beer do you?” Carolyn sheepishly asked.
Pam smiled and said, “Well as a matter of fact I do have beer. Let me
just get it out of the fridge.”
As Pam leaned down to get the beer out of the refrigerator, Carolyn
stood behind her and watched as Pam’s tight fitting Levi’s molded even closer
to her skin, presenting a delectable view.
Carolyn smiled to herself ‘Oh yeah looking good from back here’
Not wanting to get caught staring, Carolyn quickly turned away as Pam
straightened and turned around handing her the beer.
“Why don’t we go into the living room? It’s a whole lot more
comfortable than standing around in the kitchen.” Pam said.
Carolyn nodded in agreement and they both moved toward the living room.
As they walked through the narrow hallway their arms touched slightly.
They could both feel shivers go up and down their spine as their bodies reacted

guided her into the living room.
Pam turned to Carolyn and said “Why don’t you make yourself

As Carolyn moved toward the couch, she noticed the soft lighting and
the timid atmosphere of the room.
Pam walked over to the stereo. She turned toward Carolyn and said,
“Anything special you’d like to hear?”
“Well anything country is fine by me.” Carolyn said.
As Pam turned back to the stereo she picked up a CD. “Do you like Lone
star?”
“Yeah, I love them.” Carolyn said.
At that Pam put in the CD and as the CD player started playing “Amazed”
came floating out of the speakers filling the room with soft romantic sounds of
country music.
Pam walked back to the couch singing along with the chorus of the song,
“I don’t know how you do what you do.
I’m so in love with you, it just keeps getting better.

Carolyn got up and walked over to meet Pam halfway to the couch.
“Umm, would you like to dance?” Carolyn said, still a little insecure.
Their bodies met and they began to dance as thought they were one.
They continued to dance for a long time.
They were so wrapped up in each other neither one even noticed when the
song had ended.
Pam lowered her head and their lips touched softly. Carolyn closed her
