The Battle of Ton-Falk was
a disaster for the Galactic Empire. The Rebels accomplished destroying
the 2 Imperial Nebulon-B Escort Frigates and a Dreadnaught because the
Imperial ships had to drop their complements of TIE Fighters very near
the battle, since TIE Fighters lack hyperdrives. During the Battle K-3PO
made an off-hand remark to Commander Narra revealed unfortunately a stunning
and simple tactic that Narra and his forces exploited. The Rebel Starfighters
ganged up on the Capital Ships and destroyed them. It was determined by
Imperial High Command that there was insufficient TIE support, so Kuat
Drive Yards was commission to design a TIE carrier. The Escort Carrier
was the result because of this battle.
