This battle was initiated
when a Squadron of Imperial Star Destroyers were on patrol near the planet
of Turkana. Their TIE Interceptors located a Rebel Fleet orbiting the planet.
The Commanding Officer of the Imperial Squadron ordered all the ISDs into
range and all TIE squadrons launched. The Rebel Fleet was outnumbered but
it surprised the Imperial Squadron with the launching its X-Wing Starfighters
into the battle. The battle was very furious, but the Imperial Squadron
was defeated. Most likely forced into a retreat. Shocked by this development,
the Emperor ordered the implementation of Operation Strike Fear to crush
the Rebel Alliance.
