Horse Slaughter and Abuse!!!!

                   THE PROBLEM
IN THE LAST TEN YEARS MORE THAN 3 MILLION AMERICAN HORSES HAVE BEEN BUTCHERED IN THE U.S. FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION ABROAD.
SADLY, HORSEMEAT IS CONSIDERED A DELICACY IN SOME COUNTRIES. FRANCE AND BELGIUM BUY MOST OF AMERICA'S HORSEMEAT. BUT, CANADA, JAPAN AND MEXICO ARE ALSO CONSUMERS. ALL THE EQUINE SLAUGHTERHOUSES IN THE UNITED STATES ARE FOREIGN OWNED!
HOW IT'S DONE
THE HORSES SKULLS ARE FRACTURED WITH A RETRACTABLE BOLT!
But, often, even that torturous procedure does not leave them unconscious. Horses that are supposed to be unconscious at slaughter can be seen writhing - fully conscious - in terror as a conveyor belt carries them toward a gruesome death.
THE HORSES ARE HUNG BY THE HEEL AND BLED TO DEATH IN ORDER TO MEET THE USDA GUIDELINES FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION!

ALL THIS IS EVEN MORE SHOCKING BECAUSE THE HORSE IS A PET AND COMPANION ANIMAL!
The horse has a status in our society comparable to the dog. It is used in racing and as a working animal and is NOT AN AGRICULTURAL COMMODITY!
The pipeline that supplies the slaughterhouses is very clandestine. Typically, when owners give up a horse, they assume it will end up in good hands. But when that animal enters "the market" it goes into a different world, a world of price for pound and auctions, horse traders, and slaughter houses.
WE DO NOT SEEK ANY MODIFICATIONS IN THE SLAUGHTER PROCEDURE BECAUSE THERE IS JUST NO NICE WAY TO DO THIS!
ANY LEGISLATION TO MODIFY THE PROCESS JUST FURTHER INSTITUTIONALIZES IT. IF UNWANTED HORSES MUST DIE, THEN PAINLESS EUTHANASIA IS THE ONLY HUMANE SOLUTION. BUT THAT MAKES THEN INEDIBLE!
Imagine yourself inside this slaughterhouse. You are seeing what the horses go through as they approach their violent death. You first spot the horses in a holding pen, standing depressed and confused on the slippery concrete floors. Suddenly, they're moved to a chute and lined up facing what's called the "kill box." Now, depression has turned to terror. What you see is unmistakable. The horses are trembling violently and urinating on themselves. The horse has an acute sense of hearing and smell, well beyond human development. The smell of death is palpable and the horses are reacting with panic and fear. They clearly perceive they are next in line for horrific pain and death.
You see the horse, you've been following, funneled into the death trap. A slaughterhouse worker wields a mechanical instrument. Suddenly, the man brings it down with force on the horse's skull. It is a retractable bolt that fractures the horse's skull, but doesn't always render the animal senseless. The horse's bone fragments are driven into the animal's brain along with the bolt.
The terror and pain the horse experiences at this moment is unimaginable. The aim of the bolt is NOT to kill the horse, but just to immobilize the animal with the force of the blow. The horse collapses either on the first, second or the third blow. The horse falls onto a conveyer belt, where one hind leg is entrapped in a device that lifts the horse in the air UPSIDE DOWN...STILL ALIVE!!! The horse is hung by this device, it's head dangling toward the floor, STILL ALIVE, and then it's THROAT IS CUT OPEN, so the blood will drain out until the animal's heart beats for the last time. They're bled to death, which is what is required for the horsemeat to be certified for human consumption.

Find out were your really sending your horses when you take them to the AUCTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does this look  familier?
Yes these horses are at the auction, the only sad thing is that these amazing horses are not going to be enjoying were there going!!!Yes,they are going to a slaughter house!!!!They were bought by a meat buyer, and now there meaning for life has been destroyed, just as they soon will be.
I have seen some of the best horses go to meat buyers!!!Its hard to sit there and watch them walk the arena of death.
When you look into there eyes, its almost like there calling out for help, but you cant do anything to help them.It makes me want to cry when i see this. But what can you do with out the money to buy them with?or the pasture to keep them in?
Nothing!!!
But you can help,by making sure your horse dosen't end up at the Auction.Even if it takes longer to sell them privatly,do it.No animal deserves this pain. And believe me,it dosent matter how well broke the horse is to the meat buyer, but how big,and what kind of meat cost it will bring in.So if you love your horse enough to make sure its not killed before time,be choosy who you sell to,because the man wanting your horse, could be the judge sentancing your horse to death!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a pregnant mare, she was so big at the aution,it looked like she could have foaled right in the ring!!!

Although she to went to a meat buyer.
She sold for $800 dollors, and they didnt care she was due!
But thats how meat buyers are, cold blooded monsters who could care less about the animal, but only about the cash they bring in!!!!!!
This was a young mare, she could have been used for many things.Like pleasure, brude mare, anything you could think of,she would have been able to do!!!But she wen tto a meat buyer, who would let her foal, fatten her up,and send her down death row!!!!!!SO many great horses like this are killed every day due to horse slaughter,so please like i said,if you are gonna sell a horse, keep away from the auction's,because the only thing they will bring your horse,is death!!!!!

Contrary to popular belief, there is NOTHING wrong with MOST  horses bound for slaughter. The double decker stock trucks on the highway heading towards Fort McLeod in Southern Alberta carry on it some ones beloved pet that they couldn't afford to keep anymore, the horse that the kids don't ride anymore, the racehorse that couldn't win, the pmu colt that didn't sell, the riding horse that someone doesn't want to feed over the winter, etc. etc. etc. The reasons most horses are on that truck are endless.
