The Three Pretty Kitties

a poem recited by Ferlinghetti Donizetti (Kevin Clash)
while he plays his bongo drums

the character is a parody (I believe) of Beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti

In a pretty little house made of celery
There lives a little kitty-cat family
One, two, three!

They can make their tails look just like spaghetti
And they dine in bed on Apple Brown Betty
One, two, three!

But these pretty kitties, they’re great circulators!
They know a pretty fish, and they’re friends with alligators
One, two, three!

And when the sun decides to go outta sight
The pretty little kitties stand and wave good night!

[The sun, which has a face, sets, then rises and waves. Each kitty waves as Ferlinghetti counts.]

One, two, three!

[The sun sets again.]
