Odyssey Extends Prime Family Time Block

On the film front, Odyssey will bow its first original movie, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, from Hallmark, Oct. 23. Loesch said talk of the project was initiated in May, and moved at a rapidly accelerated pace with an eye toward getting it onto the small screen by Halloween and piggybacking on some of the promotion surrounding Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow film for Paramount (a Nov. 20 launch).

"As a TV film, ours may suffer by comparison to Burton's $60 million production. We stick truer to the original literature; I think viewers will be pleased," stated Loesch, noting that a sweepstakes tied to Odyssey's original had already generated some 4 million responses.
