Epilogue

Keith spent much of the next two weeks recovering, but he wasn’t at a loss for company by any means. The team hardly left him alone (much to their Captain’s increasing annoyance). Sven and Romelle had even come from Pollux to stay at the castle for a while. Sven, to pilot the newly repaired Black Lion. Romelle, to comfort the still shaken Princess who had almost seen his life, and their future, pass her by.

In the confusion, Allea had disappeared. The castle occupants were told she went home, but the Voltron Force had other suspicions. The circumstances surrounding the Black Lion’s accident were still under investigation, but as far as the Force was concerned, it was caused by something, or someone of familiar evil. Little did they know that without her, the Captain would have perished in the freak accident.

Keith remembered very little of what transpired in the recent days leading up to the accident. He was told there was a guest in the castle - an injured village girl he had helped - but he couldn’t remember her. Dr. Gorma had instructed him to concentrate on the present and getting well, so that’s what he tried to do.

After a time, Haggar was able to make her way back to the mortal world, and eventually, she went back to Zarkon to beg his forgiveness (which was reluctantly given).

One night, she entered the Captain’s dreams and called his name. He never heard her…for he was dreaming of another.

-The End -

It is the human condition to seek out happiness. Most eventually learn that it comes from within themselves. Others simply move through life, trying to steal happiness from others when they’ve failed at it on their own. That was sort of what this fic was about.
