Professor Homer's interests are in both European and American painting from 1865 to 1925 and in American art after World War II. He is also fascinated with the history of photography, especially the pictorial movement, 1885 to 1920.

William Innes Homer - his interests are in both European and American Paintings from 1865 to 1925 and in American Art after World War II.  He's also fascinated with the history of photography - especially, the pictorial movement.Contemporary painting, photography, and popular culture also interest him, as does the phenomenon of Postmodernism. He has taken a wide variety of approaches to the artist and the work of art: contextual, stylistic, psychological, theoretical, documentary, and technical. He is interested in the kind of insight that is revealed by the merging of two or more disciplines.

Professor Homer retired in 1999 but still remains active as a writer, consultant, and adviser.
