Meet Rachel...

If you've browsed our site at all, you know that my husband, Brian, and I live in Fairbanks, Alaska, where he is stationed at Fort Wainwright. We were married in December of 1998 in Portland, Oregon. Before moving here in January of 1999, we spent three years at the University of Portland.
I graduated in May of 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a certificate in Religious Education. I've worked at a few different churches. While in Alaska, I've been the Director of Youth Ministries at the First Presbyterian Church and Fairbanks Lutheran Church and worked with junior and senior high youth--planning programs, teaching, and building relationships with them. I am now the Lay Associate at Fairbanks Lutheran, working in various areas, including small groups and youth ministry. I am also starting to work on a Master's degree through Fuller Theological Seminary and am volunteering for the Literacy Council of Alaska, working with an adult ESL student.
In my free time, I enjoy website design, spending time with our rabbit, Thumper, reading, working out on the Total Gym (Santa brought it for me!), playing The Sims, and exploring the Alaskan outdoors! Oh, and I am a TV and movie junkie too--I freely admit that. :)
The rest of my family lives in the Northwest (the best part of the country!). My mom, Bev, and dad, Gregg, both live in Portland, Oregon, as does my brother, Josh. My brother, J., lives in Federal Way, Washington. Be sure to visit their websites!
